I thought the increased availability of abortions was the answer to maternal mortality. Fund have only been held back at some clinics this year. What's happening here? Are all reports based on current events which might affect an influx of tax dollars? These numbers should have fallen. Is it because of tinder or any number of sex sites? Is it because the poor didn't have access to clinics in those years? Somethin's screwy, Louie.

Why would Tinder have a damn thing to do with maternal mortality rates or for that fact the high rate of infant mortality in the US that is rising?

Red states like Texas have abnormally high maternal mortality rates (23/100,000). California's rate of 8.3/100,000 is much more in line with the rest of the modern world.

Ease of access for more couples than before it was available.

Well, the answer is NOT to shut down places like Planned Parenthood that provides affordable, accessible pre-natal care for pregnant women.

What do "sex sites" have to do with maternal mortality ??????

But thanks for showing that pregnancy is NOT the "walk-in-the-park" Anti-Choicers think it is...

In West Texas you have to drive a hundred miles to the nearest hospital.

But the natural beauty and elbow room are worth it to those who live there.

Abortions to prevent or lower the incidence of maternal mortality. I thought I made that clear in the opening post? Maybe I didn't?

Wait, is this the section for threads on 'Abortion'?

Who would be so ignorant that they'd drive 100 miles, if they are bleeding, instead of going to a hospital's emergency room?

If one is not pregnant one doesn't die from pregnancy.

So abortion and maternal mortality have nothing to do with each other.

In Australia they airlift people to hospitals in this kind of emergency.. Its part of their universal healthcare program.

Not too bad compared to staffing and operating a full service hospital out in the boonies.

Not really.. That's why rural hospitals were closing by dozens a year all thru the 1990s.

Which is the reason for 100 mile drives in s-holes like Texas...…...gee, in the "Greatest Country in the World" women die from lack of care....

But Repubs are too busy worrying about abortions rather than aiding pregnant women....and others in need.
