Obesity is a true killer for pregnancy. And even worse when you claim the doctor is "fat shaming" you.
I will start by saying that “Harvard Business Review” may not be the best place to examine complex health care issues A) coverage for healthcare B) inconsistency in practice C) chronic disease burden D) lack of data and therefor lack of quality control https://www.scielosp.org/scielo.php?pid=S0042-96862015000400135&script=sci_arttext&tlng=en This article dogma a little deeper https://obgyn.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/jog.12954 https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/14767058.2019.1571032 Another paper citing lack of universal health care and standardisation of practice https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/jan.14094 Now compare that with on little sparsely populated state in Australia. We have some pretty bloody unique challenges including an indigenous population scattered thinly throughout vast tracts of the state some of whom still live a near hunter gatherer existence. Getting antenatal care to that population is challenging at times And since we have a significant rural population it led to standardisation of practices based on best research available https://www.health.qld.gov.au/qcg/publications These guidelines I have been reliably informed are being used throughout the world. But where medical officers have “visiting rights” in private hospitals there is no constraint on them to use such guides
Ye gods but I am grateful for living under a UHC. It might not be perfect but I will take it any day over the alternative
so your saying pregnancy is dangerous and women should be able to choose for themselves to have a baby or not?
Nope! https://www.nbcnews.com/health/wome...s-have-higher-infant-mortality-rates-n1008481 https://www.advisory.com/daily-briefing/2018/11/09/maternal-mortality
Yep! Some of that is by refunding agencies like the “Royal Flying Doctor Service” (RFDS) some through commercial flights if the patient is stable enough some through ground transport...... We are a big country with some pretty sparsely populated areas and part of UHC promis is that ever6 Australian can get equal care. So, if the doctor cannot come to the patient we will fly the patient to the specialist medical treatment no matter where.
What you did not do was prove that contention. I know I can but I am waiting for you to do so PS take a look I think I am up to about 6 citations in the last 15 minutes
Well, I agree with the study I posted. I wasn't really trying to prove that article's veracity. I was asking for it to be disproven. I've only read one of your posts and I disagreed with your assertions. I'll get to the rest. I won't disregard them. I have to get a coffee, though. I may have to walk away from the thread for a bit, too. I'll check them out, though.
Ah! The assertion you have offered no support for Are you unaware that some things are multifactoral?
The population had continuously moved toward urban areas. It was too expensive to keep all the hospitals sorely needing updating and built in the '50s or earlier, open. I literally can remember the news stories. Too lazy to look them up.
I am not. What you don't realize is, I have always thought, "If you want to murder the unborn, you may. However, since this is a free country(supposedly), I should not have to contribute to what I believe is evil and wrong".
