In the mood of thinking of strange things, i was drawn to africa and that it only rains for half the year, so crops yields are only for half the year. this is because the flowers or plants 'go to sleep' for half the year, not doing anything without water.

Through some minor tricks, we could make the crop yields double, by using lighting and water for them. this would be where we, during winter, produce enough of the things plants need to make them produce during winter too. this would see them maximize the output for themselves.

To do this, we merely need to raise the temperatures around the plants. i have seen flies hatch during winter too, during warm spells, and, this means that this at least in nature is 'temperature reactive.'

So, how do we trick the crops to 'double yield?' this would be down to warming the areas around plants or crops during the winter season, by placing a solar panel or magnifying glass type of thing over them, to make sure they get enough sun, and, in summer, we could remove the perspex lens and then have natural sun exposure.

~OR~ For much less investment we could build huge greenhouses and desalinate all the water we need. Then we could us Unicorn fertilizer which everyone knows quadruples crop yields when combined with tetralodenzoride 14 from Unicrom 8 of the Virgo cluster. Once we do this instantaneous transfer of the product it easily accomplished through transporters using Quantum Extrapolation principle.
