If that's Paris, it's not the only problem France has. There is a war going on in Dijon, and it has nothing to do with mustard. It's between the people from the Maghreb in N. Africa and the Chechnyans - who have been coming in from neighboring countries to take part. There are over 10 million from the Mahgreb and less than 1 million Chechnyans, but if I was a betting person, I would certainly put my money on the Chechnyans. Then again the Barbary pirates were vicious, so maybe the Algerians and others shouldn't be discounted when it comes to barbarity. Anyway, the French army went in today to stop it. Let's wish them success.
France once a beacon of liberty for the world is now just a absolute crap hole. I’m not even sure it should be called France any longer. They are ashamed of their national identity so perhaps a name change is in order. They had to print out papers to carry to show authorities upon request on the street...in 2020...if the Germans are too busy dominating the EU I guess the French will just willingly oppress themselves.
I think the real problem in France would be if the Chechnyans, who are Sunnis, and those from the Mahgreb who are also Sunnis, were to stop fighting and unite. Then they might turn on the French. Frankly, I think people should be given guns to protect themselves should worse come to worse - which it probably will.
The papers were a temporary thing to keep the virus under control which, at that time, was spreading at lightning speed in France. Guess what, it worked and they managed to control it. I don't think anybody in France cares that you have a problem with that or didn't understand the purpose. But why don't you take care of the crap hole called the US (maybe it shouldn't be called US anymore either) since it has a truckload of problems. I guess it makes one feel better in some weird way to look at other people's problems.
Last time the French had to carry papers it took American blood to free them from that oppression. A lot of American blood. Also British and Canadian blood as well. Had they not folded like a cheap piece of cardboard and capitulated to the Germans that would not have occurred. So if they do not remember that they will be reminded. Then as a brief reminder of French history as soon as they were liberated from their oppressors by the blood of others they quickly went back to oppressing their former colonies in Indo China and Algeria. Well until they got their ass handed to them there as well and yet again called on American blood to save them. Ahh the French..
It's not that we have problems, but that we have imposed our stupidities on the rest of the world. Okay, so now they're backfiring on us, and it makes everyone else happy - except us.
Comparing the Nazi occupation to the current Corona crisis is complete bs, doesn't make any sense at all. If you seriously think it was "American blood" that saved the French over and over again, maybe the US should stop being so absurdly dumb and should instead keep their fingers out of other people's affairs. Some folks can't be helped in their stereotype cliche hate.
Belleau Woods where in WWI US Marines stopped the German drive towards Paris as the French Troops retreated....you do realize that was roughly an hour from Paris right? “teufelhunden was a slang term given American Marines by their German opponents after the capture of Belleau Woods in 1918. The word in German meant "Devil dogs" which the American Marines later on adopted the image into the USMC. Soon after the image of the devil dogsrepresented the marine corps in many recruitment posters used throughout the war.” The Germans thought the Marines were so fierce they gave them that nickname, they were use to fighting the French. Who pushed the Germans out of France in 44? Was it French troops? No it was not. American, British and Canadian blood did that. American blood did not save the French in Indo China, Ike said no. And they got their ass kicked. The last time French blood was spent on American soil was in the 1700s. Of course that was right after they had yet again lost to the Brits on the Plains Of Abraham. Care to pint out error In my understanding of history? And yes the comparison to giving into fear and giving up liberty in the name of safety is applicable rather that fear is caused by grey uniforms or a over hyped virus. The sin of doing so is even worse when you give away freedom that others gifted you.
Err, that's really tame in comparison to what is happening in your country. All I saw was a few officers trip over a step and loads of press photographers and smoke. What is the point of this thread?
What's the point? That's an odd question. What's "the point" of all the violence from the left? That would be the point of this thread if the left had any point. It doesn't. So settle for that as the point. Why? OMG, do you feel shame?
The point of this thread is the need for a daily dose of "look how crap they are, thank God we are so much better." These yanks, can't get their own act together but constantly point the finger at others. Meanwhile in the US, in case someone missed it. But let's look at Paris.
Pointing out French hypocrisy is my guess. The French nation seems to preach a lot about societal equity. Guess not everyone agrees with their level of success they say they have. France was rioting weekly way before America with their yellow vest and all so they do have the rioting edge on the good ole US of A.
Where are you from? This yank wants to know :0 Although I’m from Texas so I’m not a Yankee in my country.
The point of this thread - like other doom, gloom, and leftist-apocalypse-is-nigh kind of threads mushrooming lately in the World News section - is to create new, and deepen already existing, divides between Americans and Europeans, and between Americans themselves, in order to sway public opinion outside US against Americans and public opinion in US toward extreme right and isolationism. The important question is "cui prodest?". A different perspective on the protests in Paris: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...re-teargas-on-anti-racism-protesters-in-paris I'm not a fan of the Guardian. but this article seems really balanced and fair.
I'm neither in denial nor butthurt, you obviously don't know that you don't have the monopoly on the interpretation of my comments, and "most of the time" doesn't make any sense here since you don't know me and haven't really met me. If you claim that I'm in denial, we all know you are a liar.
I never was very good at "hidden meanings" -- you know, if it looks like poop, and smells like poop, it's probably democrat. But it might just be poop. Only one way to know for sure. I get off at the next stop, so enjoy your day.
Good point, I forgot about those yellow vests. It seems so long ago now but it wasn't, it's been a busy 6 months I'll admit.
