Above all else, I do not want to see Hillary, Bernie, or anyone else the Democrats may nominate to win the White House this fall. It is for that very reason that the prospect of Donald winning the nomination is unsettling to say the very least. The media has always been in the tank for the Democrats, and Republicans always have a harder hill to climb as a result. I have no doubt that many leftists will dispute that notion, but the rightists on this board know exactly what I'm talking about, and it is to rightists that I am addressing this post.

I am going to put aside whether or not you think Donald has the necessary dignity, experience etc to hold office, and focus solely on his electability. He has a loyal following, and he will undoubtedly pull many people into the Republican camp that otherwise would not vote Republican, which does make an argument that he could potentially win the general election. His bombastic style does play well to a sizeable chunk of the electorate, I readily acknowledge that. On the down side, he is highly polarizing. In this election cycle, after 8 years of Obama, the right is more energized than ever, while Democrats are mostly indifferent with a troubled pool of candidates, which sets up very well for a republican victory. A Trump nomination however, because he is so polarizing, will energize the Democrats like never before, and completely erase the wide enthusiasm gap that Republicans hold in this election.

With that being the backdrop, it is important to anticipate how the media, with their obvious left bias, is going to behave. Yes they have shown outrage over his antics and he has still survived, but you can rest assured that their outrage is going to evolve, and undoubtedly get far more vitriolic. Currently during debates, the media invite Trump to attack other candidates, and when that candidate replies to that attack, Donald talks over them for at least half of their answer. It is entertaining to watch, but the moderators are letting him run rampant. It is very easy to predict during a debate with Hillary that Trump would attack her, and when she responds to that attack and he tries talking over her, that the moderator will jump in with something along the lines of " Mr. Trump, you had your time, please let Senator Clinton respond, lets treat these proceeedings with the dignity that they deserve". Or perhaps " I realize that you may not like Hillarys pantsuit, but please, lets stick to the actual topic Mr. Trump". Those simple admonitions COMPLETELY change the narrative from Trump being a loveable loud mouth, to one that paints him as a lunatic. No doubt this move will not dissuade his loyal supporters, but in order to win the general election, he is going to have to persuade a LOT more people that have not yet been converted, and if Trump is neutered in his bombacity, his chance of doing so is greatly diminished. Deep down, all rightists know full well the media is going to change its tact once Trump wins the nomination, and neutering him in the debates is a virtual certainty. A long line of expose's on Trumps past business dealings, flip flops, bankruptcies, disrespect towards women etc are also sure to follow, with a veracity that is absent during these primaries.

I think their debates will be fairly boring myself. If trump gets the nomination you will see him temper down quite a lot so I doubt he will be trying to talk over Hillary and he doesn't need to. This entire election will be about Hillary defending herself and that is never where you want to be as a candidate. All trump has to do is mention Benghazi or the FBI investigation and she will have to go off message to defend herself.

As a campaign manager, Hillary would be the nightmare version of a candidate to try and get elected and trump is a master at this game. Hillary will not survive a back and forth with trump.

I fully realize that Hillary is a DEEPLY flawed candidate. To say however that a Trump/Hillary election will therefore be about Hillary and NOT about Trump, I believe, is detached from reality. I would not underestimate the depths that the media will go to in order to derail Trump. Don't take their comparatively tepid condemnation of him in the primaries as even being an inkling of how they will portray him during the general election.

The election sets up very nicely for a Republican win, UNLESS they manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. My sincere fear is that a Trump candidacy will do just that.

Trump is no match for Hillary. She will be able to handle him and Trump is scared of her.

I may be out on a limb here, but I don't think there will be any debates between Hillary and Trump. The DNC has tried keeping her out of the spotlight, and a mano a mano debate with Trump is a lose-lose proposition.

Trump, on the other hand, might possibly decide to only debate with her if he can promote the event. Hold it in madison square garden, and the networks have to pay him if they want to air the debate. Hillary will decline, Trump will say that he offered to pay for it out of his own pocket, and he'll walk away the winner by TKO.
