Well, saying the CIA distributed Crack to blacks is a good conspiracy theory. They leave out that even though the CIA paid for cocaine to be shipped in, it was blacks who took the cocaine and manipulated it into crack then distributed it. Cocaine was still used by wealthier at the same time, but the CIA didn't specifically target blacks with crack. Now did the government use the Tuskegee experiments on blacks? Sure. But that was kept on the low low.

Some people use science as a religion. You can manipulate science and evidence. Even "peer review" can be biased.

I seem "Putin Empathatic" because I think AIDs as a bio weapon is a conspiracy theory? Please explain. I'm anxious to see how this logic train derails.

Hey, I'm with you on the ideals of the scientific method. It's just that I fear that it is being undermined by political correctness.

Scientists are now being hired to satisfy demographic quotas, rather than for their talent. Mathematics has been attacked as being a weapon of the patriarchy, fer crissake!

Americans are being encouraged to turn against each other, as well as their elected officials, and it's become quite easy to subvert the culture as well. America cannot be destroyed from without but - because of the educational system, the entertainment industry, far left politicians, and the MSM - the country is being destroyed from within. What's surprising, and discouraging, is how effective and easy it all seems to be.

Well, I think both parties, the establishment, are to blame, not just democrats and MSM. How many repubs were against repealing that 1947 law that prohibited our gov't from using propaganda upon our own people?

It was added to one of the National Security Acts that obama signed. The repeal of that law. MSM didn't cover it of course. As usual. Such great, serious, concerned, journalists we have in MSM. Significant news is seldom used to inform the voters. Mostly Jerry Springer political tripe.

And that strategic quote on page 367 is working. The left is doing an excellent job in their campaign and have been growing with success since the 60's. The 'useful idiots', and we can easily spot them on these boards and elsewhere, have no idea what they're losing.

“It is especially important to introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S. It would also make sense simultaneously to support isolationist tendencies in American politics…”

    Uhhhhhh.....yeahNO.
Your recollection pretends that the religious right did not pounce on it as a "God's punishment to the immoral". The "bio-weapon" theory was dwarfed in America by the self-righteous of the Moral Majority, many of whom openly said they enjoyed watching the afflicted die. And when news of the bio-weapon CT hit them, most responded that they were just as satisfied with that as they would be with their own theory, as long as it was understood it was punishment for what they termed "immorality".

So...you are saying that "AIDS-is-a-biological-weapon" is/was NOT a conspiracy theory among the left?

Did not originate with the Left.
In fact, if you're old enough, you should remember when evangelicals and Bircher types were running around hand in hand passing out sweaty mimeographed pamphlets on streetcorners warning that God was preparing to levy doom on mankind for our immoral behaviors, and that AIDS was only a harbinger of the fire and brimstone sure to come.
That stretches as far back as 1980.

The thumpers and Birchers differed on some minor points, perhaps the notion that the Communists had helped develop AIDS instead.
Did some fringe loony left groups glom onto the hysteria?
Are some even now peddling them?
    Sure, and why not?
Conspiracy theories are moneymakers, if you know how to peddle them.

In fact, fringe left groups are, as you describe, particularly fond of theories which describe biological warfare experiments tried out on groups deemed expendable (Africans or Haitians) or deliberate attempts to diminish particular “unfavorable” populations (Africans, Haitians, homosexuals) via biochemical attack, mostly engineered by the CIA.

But it did not originate with the left.
    Who are your sources?

Here are a few of MINE:
(under the umbrella of Discredited HIV/AIDS theories)

Wright, Pearce (11 May 1987). "Smallpox vaccine 'triggered Aids virus'". The Times. London.

Hepatitis B vaccine (HBV) theory - Alan Cantwell, MD

Oral polio vaccine (OPV) theory - Edward Hooper (journalist)

Created at Fort Detrick - Soviet KGB Operation INFEKTION

Conspiracy to decrease the population - Bill Cooper
NOTE: In Behold a Pale Horse (1991), radio broadcaster and author Milton William Cooper (1943–2001) proposed that AIDS was the result of a conspiracy to decrease the populations of blacks, Hispanics, and homosexuals.
Cooper was a frequent guest on the early Alex Jones public access cable TV show in Austin, TX.

    Other references:
Popular HIV Myths and Conspiracy Theories
Beliefs persists and translate in increased HIV infections

Bill Cooper, Alan Cantwell and Edward Hooper aren't leftist figures.
It would be very convenient for some if they were, but what is the point?

I didn't say that. I said it was a conspiracy theory on the left. I didn't make any guess as to it's origination.

So basically you've confirmed what I said. Thanks!

No, it's a conspiracy theory that enjoys wide distribution on the entire spectrum.
However, the loudest voices at the outset were from tabloid journalists on the right, evangelical churches and quack medical professionals.

You're attempting to make it seem as if the left dreamed it up, and that it is mainstream liberal demagoguery, with the last part being unsupported by any mainstream liberal candidate past or present. Please illustrate one mainstream liberal candidate who ever ran on a platform that talks about AIDS as a bio-weapon.
    Sorry, no cigar.

Again, you are arguing against things I've never said. I never argued that any liberal candidate ran on AIDS as a bio-weapon. Why do you feel the need to consistently be dishonest about my argument?

You're right, I grant you everything. Maybe you're not another knee jerk reactionary on an internet debate forum, which makes you rare.
Yes, some on the fringes of the American left love making hay about AIDS conspiracy theories.
I do not understand however, how that fits in with KGB spies who have been honing what was once a clumsy joke into a finely tuned science now being used against our great nation.
It just means that there are ignorant dupes on the left just as there are on the right.
    We both know that.

Perhaps if we'd paid more attention to the progress the Russian spy business has been making in learning how to exploit our vulnerabilities we might have been better at countering it, but that's definitely a story served best by its own thread, IMHO.
