I'm an old (70), white, male, so I should be a Trump supporter, but I AM NOT.
Unlike Trump, I am not a pathological liar.
I am successful at marriage (married 42 years) - one marriage, not 3
I have a BS degree with high honors, and Masters degree (MSCS) (Trump DOES NOT have a Masters)
I served in Vietnam in the Marines, Trump said his feet hurt and got a doctors note
I have not ever declared bankruptcy
I do not go on Twitter and defend my fragile ego like a (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)y High School Cheerleader
I recognize that not only is torture despicable and beneath the dignity of America, it also does not work - if torture worked, then in the Middle Ages when people were tortured and confessed to being witches - there really were a lot of witches?
I am not afraid of "radical Islamic terrorists" - the odds are far greater that if I meet a violent death, it will be at the hands of a deranged redneck with easy access to military weapons.
I do not think all government is bad - if I did, I would move to Somalia, where there is no government.
I do not believe we need to spend even more on our military - we already outspend the next several nations COMBINED and our allies are in that list.
"Law and Order" was the catchphrase of Nixon - the worst president in my lifetime.
I do not think prisons should be for profit and think it is wrong that we have the largest prison population in the world.

I used to be an independent - I voted for Gerald Ford, but The GOP, as embodied my the reptilian McConnell, disgusts me with putting party above country.
I do not believe another try at "Trickle Down" will do anything different.
I think healthcare for profit is an inherently bad proposition.
I gave up on having an imaginary friend long ago, but I tolerate religious people as long as they refrain from trying to impose their views on others.

There is "fake news" - it is spelled "FOX".

A few more facts about me:
I served (unpaid) on my local school board for 6 years - far more community service than our so-called president ever did.
I have voted in every election starting with 1968 - and only when I voted (twice) for Obama was my vote for the winning candidate.
I voted twice for Ross Perot - a truly self-made billionaire (he didn't start with millions) that never declared bankruptcy, he served his country in the Navy after graduating from Annapolis, he is not a pathological liar, nor does he have an inferiority complex.
I grew up outside of, but close to, New York City, so I am "worldly" as people there are. We know how to spot "con men", which is why Trump lost overwhelmingly in his home area - where people know him best. I know Trump chumps will say NY is solid democratic, but there have been recent GOP NY State governors, and NY City GOP Mayors - but none of them were con men.
I find it hard to stomach how un-American the GOP has become - they don't even try to hide that they are for wealthy whites only, and that they try to restrict voting by limiting voting hours and voting places to make it harder for working people to get to vote.
I was an independent, but what the GOP has become since KKKarl Rove/Bush has made me anti-GOP. I used to vote for candidate rather than party, but now I cannot vote for any fascist/GOP candidate because their platform is anti-science, uses voodoo economics, and seeks to ruin Medicare and Social Security. Want to fix Social Security? Do what "saint" Reagan did - RAISE THE SALARY CAP for contributions - better, eliminate the cap.

I feel sorry for most Trump Chumps - the ones who aren't rich and are deluded in thinking the so-called president charlatan cares a whit about them. They have been had and don't know it.

Nowhere did I say I was afraid of lowbrows like you - armed or unarmed. I said I wasn't buying the fear tactics the so-called president and the GOP are spreading.
Yes, there are nutty Marines, but a lower percentage than nutty Trump Chumps.

Somalia is the GOP dream - no government.

In good argument it is not matter of fun, it is matter of delivering your opinion in a clear form. Sometimes it takes a lot of time and text of a big volume.

The modern face of anti-Trumpers are the punks in ski masks protesting, burning, disrupting and being pests.
Embrace them. They are like the same people who spit on our Vietnam Vets returning home.

It is indeed an honor to have you here Sir!

I will be intrigued at how you might respond to this discussion.........
which by the way has evolved greatly since I began it a little over two years ago.......

Should AboveAlpha allow us to set him up for the office of POTUS as early as 2016?

    My apologies......
but I pretty much ignore niceties like spelling and grammar in order to focus attention on a quotation.........
where the spelling and grammar is usually much better than my own..........

Hoosier8..... I know this is a bit premature.......
but it looks to me like VietVet........
is another poster here who I may soon encourage to enter politics...........

70 is NOT too old to begin........

It would be phenomenal if VietVet had the humility to agree with me and help to turn up the heat on AboveAlpha.......
    or become his rival.........

    it is all good.......

Having a good intellectual capacity does not indicate softness. I wouldn't expect you to grasp that.

Your opinions don't render you intellectual. I also don't take intellectual advice from someone who spends their time writing long lists to whine about someone.

    Actually......
in some cases...... it can do exactly that........
asking ourselves question after question after question.......
can tend to slow down our reaction time..........

    "Ignorance is power."

Being well informed.... can tend to make us "weak".... in some ways!

Some occasionally slipped through the cracks.

And during the Vietnam War there was PC social engineering that took place, "McNamara's Moron Corps" aka (Project 100,000 ) To dumb to be drafted but in the name of political correctness, dumb enough to be allowed to enlist.

There are a lot of angry old white men on this forum glued to CNN or MSNBC international corporate propaganda PR outlets - falsely calling themselves "the media" and "the press" - and will in pure submissiveness then have exactly the emotions, will and not say, will do, and won't do exactly the PR corporate employees such as Maddow, Matthews, and Copper instruct them to the finest detail. They like to then rush to the forum to post what those corporations' PR outlets say to prove they are completely submissive. By doing so, they prove their loyalty to those corporations and super rich elites - and possibly demonstrating they can recite what they heard on CNN or MSNBC - like kindergarten students reciting after their teacher - believing this proves they are smart.

Currently some of the forum's old white male Democrats, in addition to a duty to spew out every insult, lie and personal attacks they can against Trump and every Republican in the country, also demand escalating the 70+ year old Cold War with Russia against the non-existent USSR, demand the USA continue to be the world police killing people in at least a dozen countries at the same time, furiously demand that the more jobs the super rich and international corporations move out of the USA to foreign sweatshops the better, and furiously demand endless millions more unskilled immigrate laborer be allowed into the USA to keep domestic wages low and to break unionism - all in their worshiping the super rich endlessly wanting more billions profit like the good little Democrats those mindless submissive minions are.

With the American Democratic Party now shifted to being the International Corporate Fascist party, they goosestep right along to their new commands. Hating the majority of Americans - all white people, all blue collar workers, all Christians, all Republicans, small business owners, and anyone with any traditional values - plus cursing all of American history - is a Democratic Party membership must too, of course.

The OPer probably will like it here a lot.

Who posted this in my alerts? The poster is anonymous.

"Your post in the thread Meet Trump demographics was deleted. Reason: Really? In an introduction thread? I usually just issue infraction for flame in an intro thread but feel blessed that the infraction system is slightly doinked.

What does it mean? Who are you?
