    Probably yelling Allhua Akbar too, if the truth be known; but the papers are told to keep that bit out of the story.

    Either the Daily Mail and The Australian are lying or everyone else is selective reporting for political reasons.

    It's everyone else.

    Police are treating it as a terror related.

    So if they'd acted upon it, the incident wouldn't have happened then? Obviously the Aussies are as dumb as we are; we always wait until they carry out an atrocity before admitting they were on the radar/known to the intelligence services - what's the ****ing point of covert surveillance, and having them on the radar, if they don't act on what they're finding out ffs? :wall:

    I'm french and after a dozen of terrorist attacks which all begin as "we don't know the motivation of the killer" and 1 days after you learn it's a muslim terrorist, you start to jump to conclusion a little bit more quickly. Considering his nationality, there is few doubts about the fact it's a terrorist attack.

    The question is : Why was this somali man in Australia ?

    Because I get the impression that Australia's immigration policy is as lenient as Sweden's. I recall seeing quite a few 'Refugees are welcome here' demonstrations in Australian towns/cities a couple of years ago.

    His passport was cancelled in 2015. Three years ago.
    He may well have been under surveillance for some time, then satisfied Police
    that the surveillance was unnecessary. I dont know. More may come out in the near future.
    I do agree with LRL insofar as surveillance goes, it probably needs improving, <Rule 2/7> what do you arrest him for...
    ...being someone who might commit an offence....
    Of course there are many progun supporters in FSA who would know better and say "arrest him
    on suspicion".....pft...
    And of course many mass shooters in the FSA have come under suspicion before the offence
    was committed...but were not arrested...
    <Rule 2/7>
