Look at how it is in nature. You're not going to change this overnight [or, at all]. And maybe it's a good thing. [Lots of] time will tell. I think this was disproved long ago, but even if men are more guilty, it makes sense. Sex for women is a great deal more risky. I always liked to believe that if it were men who were the ones who took the chance of getting pregnant, no guy would ever have sex! I am not sure I know who would say that women should not have the potential of being economically independent, but having children means you must sacrifice, a word that has been completely dropped from the English language. So many people want it ALL, and it's not going to happen. You can only serve one master. Divorce is a horrendous problem in Western culture. The biggest victims are the children [which nobody seems to care too much about anymore]. On the whole, it takes two parents to properly raise a child. This has been shown in many, many studies. The point is that it is women who pursue divorce WAY more than men [>80%]. I know how complicated these things are but it is a tragedy for the children of these failed marriages [including my own].
Men are "disposable" if you treat them like they are disposable. I think some of this is a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you become part of a very conservative religious group and meet your date there, I think the statistical chances of that person leaving you are going to be much lower. It has to do with what level of commitment you are looking for in the first place.
