Just horrific! I feel for the families of the victims: Do the social media apps involved bear any responsibility:

Was he really part of child trafficking? None of that was confirmed or denied in the article. And no social media is not responsible

The point of the article is that many individuals have been wrongly accused, based on scant or fabricated evidence, and then the crowds act on rumors.

The reason why there are lynchings is because the police are conspicuously absent or extremely corrupt. Many parts of Mexico are poor places and the people do not trust that police will be able to handle things.

But it is wrong for people to automatically believe things they read on the internet and then act on that, carrying out justice themselves.

It's not entirely clear from the article. He may have been, or he may have been someone unfortunately wrongly accused.

Mark my words, this type of thing will begin happening in the United States. Whether we live to see or not is anyones guess. We are headed there, no doubt. When you import people by the tens of millions from these countries, don’t Pikachu face when it starts happening. Thank your local liberal. They are voting for it.

A guy went into a pizza place with a gun looking for Hillary's child trafficking sex ring.

    It started long ago, Nostradamus.

If you mean, the quality of the article, I agree!

The odds prohibitively favor the likelihood that this person was NOT a child abductor (the overwhelming majority of people aren't). And the article was just awful: it did not even confirm that the man burned to death, was the person who had been accused. It is not unreasonable to read the meaning of the article's description, in fact, to be that this "political advisor," was the one spreading the false rumors, for which he was held to account, by the populace. Not that I would condone it, but that would have been a more Karmically justified scenario.

However, I realize the chances of this, also being rather slim.

Legally, I don't think we can say, for sure. That is, I do not believe there is any law that exists, against social media, in Mexico, that goes beyond our own laws, in assigning any responsibility to the site host. Nevertheless, this is largely still a gray area in the law, since internet- tailored laws are mostly non- existent, therefore it is impossible to say with certainty, how a court would rule, in such a case.

Well, are we as a society going to agree that people are too stupid to be trusted with freedom of information, and therefore the government is going to have to exercise control over all private information??

It seems like society loses either way.

The issue of people being falsely accused in the public square and vigilantee justice being taken out against them is not a new issue. I remember seeing a documentary about the French in the wake of the defeat of Nazi Germany, they went about in a wave of "denunciations", people who had been accused of having sided with the Germans, and the public took vengeance out on them. Often these people were falsely accused. Some were murdered.

I think it was called "The Sorrow and the Pity".

What does that have to do with mob lynching in public? In case you weren’t aware, another guy went with a gun the other day to go assassinate a Supreme Court justice.

I always wondered why lynching mobs are so easily let out of responsibility, which is one of the main reasons for it. Everyone who is reconized in the mob should face a conspiracy for murder accusation. It should be enough to join the mob and applaud. If you know you risk to go to prison for the rest of your live these psychopaths would at least think twice if its worth their fun to burn someone alive or not.

They just may. Mexico has a different whole legal structure than we do and the Army becomes involved quite before ours ever would.

Similar to how mass media turns people on each other in the USA as well, but not to so sever a degree.

The Americans have done several different ethnic groups and races for lynchings.

Lynching is not unique to one race. It is not something only white people do.

I'm sure the 200 people who lynched that guy in Puebla were all white.

    Are you taking medication?

These lynchings are more common in Guatemala and other Central American countries than Mexico.

    Warning not pleasant.

In this particular case this young woman used her feminine charms to lure a cab driver to be robbed and killed. She was convicted and sentenced by a mob who beat her up and lit her on fire.

Kamala Harris who has white ancestors who owned slaves lecturing us about lynching in our country.

Of course even using the most broad definition of lynching we do not even have one a year. But we need to be lectured about it and a law needed to be passed just so white people can feel like crap and black people can hate their own country.

A guy went on to a ball field on with one of these assault rifles and begin to shoot at Republican Congressional members..... Oddly enough very few if any elected Democrats at the time started beating the drum to ban those guns.

I'm sure Steven scalise still bears the scars from that deranged liberal who almost killed him that day

Mexico isn't known for preserving order or the rule of law. The cartels actually keep more 'order' (such as it is...) there than the govt does.

In Sacramento county there are a couple of missing persons known to be mid level dealers.
Vigilantes aren’t all that big on due process as we are seeing in DC. They would lynch Trump if they could get away with it.
