Honestly, I am with you. I think suits either way would be wrong. Its like suing the gun manufacturer for what someone did with their product. I think its sleazy for the resort to come out guns a blazing on this one.
Someone else posted this issue earlier so I researched it. Apparently there is some class action lawsuit taking place against MGM, organized by a law firm and they are involving multiple people from many districts to shop their case around and file in a court they think would be friendly to them. MGM would have to go wherever they pick unless they also file suit then they can have a say in what court gets the case. They aren't suing the people for anything, they are just trying to get a fair court hearing.
