    Michigan 2020 Death File, Extracted January 8, 2021 . Division for Vital Records & Health Statistics, Michigan Department of Health & Human Services

    Number of Deaths by Selected Underlying Causes of Death by Month,
    Michigan Occurences,

    January 1 2020—January 8, 2021

    ------------------------

    Interesting!

    Example;

    Leading causes of death in Michigan; Heart Disease (HD)......same as National

    HOWEVER,

    Jan 2019 to Nov 2019; 22,805 HD deaths

    Same time period.....

    Jan 2020 to Nov 2020; 23,731 HD deaths

    Fact; Since the last 5 years, the annual number of deaths in the U.S. increased by approx. 1%.

    Thus, let's assume Michigan 2019's 24,028 HD deaths + 1% = 24,268 deaths

    Same time period, 2020 = 23,721 deaths, thus, a reduction of ONLY 2.2%......due to Covid19. In other words, not a huge reduction of HD deaths Trump's loyalists are anticipating.

    Have fun!

    CANCER

    Jan 19 to Nov 19; 17,888

    Jan 20 to Nov 20; 18,827

    No reduction of Cancer deaths due to Covid19

    It is almost as if COVID is adding a whole lot of extra deaths to the number normally expected. Remarkable. Who could possibly have forseen that?

    For the leading causes of death, certainly not the 25%, 50%, even 75% reduction, Trump's loyalists are anticipating.

    I'm agreeing with you. CDC just correlates data from the states. If we drill down into that we find the same thing the CDC is saying - COVID has killed over 400,000 Americans.

    Sadly the people who clain the figures are faked are either too mentally ill or too dishonest to be swayed by more data. Once you liberate yourself from the need to verify your beliefs with facts you become immune to facts entirely.

    Michigan's 2019/2020 Monthly death count only shows the following causes of deaths;

    Cancer
    Heart Disease
    Stroke
    Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
    Pneumonia & Flu
    Septicima......also known as blood poisoning
    Covid19

    However, their "number of deaths from all causes'', page 3, amounts to 114,918, and in 2018, Michigan's all causes of deaths amounted to 98,985, thus, a huge increase.

    Michingan 2018 population; 9.984 million
    2018 Mortality rate per 1,000 pop; 98,985/9,984 = 9.91

    https://www.mdch.state.mi.us/pha/osr/deaths/DXCause113.asp

    In 2018,

    Michigan's Mortality Rate per 1,000 pop; 9.9
    National; 8.7

    A differential of 1.2

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_birth_and_death_rates

    Critical thinking.....

    1. Calculate Michigan/National mortality rate differential including Covid19 deaths;

    Michigan

    2018.......98,985 deaths + 13,000 Covid19 deaths = 111,985

    111,985/9,984 = 11.21

    National

    2018 population; 326.2 million
    2018 number of deaths; 3,262,00 X 8.7 = 2,837,740 deaths
    2,837,740 + 353,000 Covid 19 deaths = 3,190,740
    3,190,740/3,262,00 = 9.78

    Differential; 11.21 - 9.78 = 1.43

    ----------------

    2. Calculate Michigan's 2020 Mortality Rate per 1,000 pop

    2020 Number of deaths, all causes; 114,918
    2020 population; 9.998 million
    Mortality Rate per 1,000 pop; 114,918/9,998 = 11.49

    3. Calculate 2020's National Mortality Rate per 1,000

    Michigan's 11.49 minus a differential of 1.43 = 10.06

    2018 Mortality Rate; 8.7
    2019 Mortality Rate; 8.785
    2020 Mortality Rate (excluding Covid19 deaths); 8.90

    4. Calculate 2020's number of Covid19 deaths;

    10.06 - 8.90 = 1.16

    A difference of 1.16 X 331,00 = approx. 383,000 Covid19 deaths
