Because middle America wants a ban on guns, straws, big-gulps and salt.
Because people of color want 'stop-and-frisk', specifically targeted on them.

The only way Bloomberg gets the nomination is if the DNC lets him, which will, yet again, alienate the Bernie supporters.

Did he or did he not implement a policy that harassed minorities for no good reason and kept defending said harassment despite all the evidence that came out? Bloomberg fans taking a page out of the trump playbook.

Bloomberg will never be the nominee for one main reason. He is/was an old school democrat who at least had a willingness to enforce the law. Today’s left hates the law. In the last decade or so we’ve witnessed the left’s animosity toward the law on every level. Lenient judges, unwilling prosecutors and worse- legislators who pass more laws that undo laws than actual laws.
The modern left hates enforcement and frankly doesn’t want to do it. They run for office on platforms grounded on who enforces it the least! If America is a nation built on law, why do democrats want this position? Power.

Except he didnt. He got raked over the coals in court and his policy had a very low success rate of catching firearms. Since the policy was removed, new york has not seen the amount of crime that it saw before the policy was put into place.

I haven't followed the story, but I doubt it was as the right-wing is portraying it.

I don't know, but I do know that's how one goes getting "suicided" ....

It could go either way, on one end Hillary did win the popular vote in 2016, regardless of pissed off Sanders supporters. However, a lot of Democrats are sick of Hillary, she ran, she lost and hasn't shut up about it since...

He would do better to have Klobuchar as a running mate, IMO.

I think anyone young-ish, like Sen. Klobuchar, who has aspirations to be a Senator-for-life (if not President) would run away as fast as they could from Bloomberg. More stories are getting published about Bloomberg's history of racism and sexism.

Hillary's at the end of the road and desperate to be back in the spotlight....so she probably would accept. Hillary wants a brokered convention though, where the party begs her to be the nominee.

You raise a good point, his recent scandals might very well cost him the nomination regardless of his money. I think she would accept it as well, if he did get the nomination, very scary for Bloomberg...

I don't think they will go into a brokered convention, but with that sh*t show who knows? That woman would go to damn near any lengths to be president. The DNC would shoot themselves in the foot if they did that...

If Bloomberg gets the nomination, it'll be a former Democrat (Trump) against a former Republican (Bloomberg).

That's the current state if our party politics in a nutshell.

Yeah, hadn't thought of that. Interesting, huh?

If Bernie wins though, it will be the first time two 3rd Party candidates battle it out. The Socialist Populist v. The Nationalist Populist.

(Thinking about it, I think Bloomberg has moved far to the left of Democrat and Socialist, to Marxist....so he's essentially a 3rd Party candidate as well.)

Bloomberg is a strange creature, but I don't get Marxist out of someone literally buying their way in. More of an oligarch to me.

He's gotten the Democrat party to change their rules and allow him on the debate stage. I think that's a good thing as he hasn't had to go toe-to-toe with anyone yet.

Yeah, I'll stand corrected on the "Marxist" comment. Bloomberg doesn't want government to control the means of production like Sanders, but he is a different type of tyrant. He's a fuss-budget nanny state type of government control freak. If he wanted to control soda pop and salt as mayor, I can imagine how much damage he would do micromanaging things like fossil fuels through the EPA, capping gasoline and electricity use.

Barb pretty much NAILS IT when tweetin' 'bout Mike a few hours ago...

A very generous man who puts his money where his mouth is... especially about climate change, gun safety and so many other good causes. Donald Trump’s foundation was shut down for fraud.

Was quite fitting, Barb, since trump IS (and always has been) a FRAUD.

While Sanders has been doing little more than flappin' his gums over the years, Mike has been WALKIN' THE WALK... :trophy:
