    That's right, the very wealthy, and equally nutty, Pillow guy, is going to challenge Ronna McDaniel for Chairperson of the Republican National Committee.
    McDaniel was elected in 2017, with Donald Trump's support. The winner of the upcoming election, in which McDaniel will be again running, will lead the RNC through the 2024 election.

    <Snip>

    Social media users were quick to poke fun at Lindell over his announcement on Monday...

    In response to the announcement, the Republican Accountability Project tweeted, "The Republican Party continues its descent into absurdity."

    "I want to pitch Mike Lindell's running for RNC Chair as an upcoming season of @FargoFX. I have been training to write this all of my adult life," another wrote.
    <End>

    <Snip>
    Thus far, McDaniel has received an endorsement from the majority of the RNC's members, 101 of 168. Lindell, a Trump ally and a 2020 election denier, has not been backed by former President Donald Trump, although he told Axios that he didn't inform Trump of his decision to run...

    However, it's been reported that <McDaniel> could be challenged by Representative Lee Zeldin, who lost the New York governor's race to incumbent Governor Kathy Hochul earlier this month.

    In a November 17 letter addressed to the RNC's members, Zeldin wrote, "Due to the amount of requests I have received from both inside and outside the 168 about running to be the next chair of the Republican National Committee, I am very seriously considering your request and am grateful for your messages."

    <End>

    Lindell will probably just be a sideshow, unless, of course, he gets Trump's endorsement-- and who could say, for sure, that won't happen? At present, though-- despite a poor Republican showing, relative to expectations, in these midterm elections, and a decently strong challenge that election denier Lee Zeldin may mount-- 3/5ths of the RNC seem willing to stay the course.

    I would rather see the My Pillow guy as chairman than a relative of Mittens. I would take the Sham Wow guy over Mittens.

    I could have sworn that Shamy guy got in some kind of legal trouble a few years ago, so maybe he is.

    Huh?
    What does THIS thread have to do with Hunter Biden?:smdh:
    Or, is the idea to make EVERY Thread about Hunter Biden?:bored:
    Anyway, back to the Actual Thread Topic:
    Romney seems to be in a Commanding Position...

    An aide to McDaniel told CNN earlier this month that she had received private commitments of support from about 100 of the 168 RNC members, which would be well more than the simple majority she needs to be reelected.

    I hadn't heard about this, for either of them-- what was their drug of choice?

    Oh, nevermind; I came across the answer from The Mellow guy, as long as cocaine is correct. Though he adds "hookers," for Shammy-- those weren't on Lindell's menu as well, were they?

    I agree. I think after their moderate, decent candidates lost two in a row to a *gasp* black guy named Barrack Hussein Obama they took a hard right to excite the conspiracy theory crowd, motivating them to get out and vote. It worked, barely, once, against a terrible candidate. But there was a price to pay, and it was turning off the moderate voters, and now they find themselves behind a little again.
    Bigger problem is that they (Republicans) have gone down a unwinnable path, but going back towards the middle is going to disappoint the far right voters, so they seem a little stuck.
    Message for Democrats and Republicans: don't go too far left or right. The bulk of the voters in America don't like it. Biden took advantage of this. The extremist path is a dead end, for either party. The Democrats of late seem to be more receptive of this concept, but the Republicans are in a tight spot as they have painted themselves in a corner. They really need someone like DeSantis to pull back toward the middle. Having Trump as a candidate will spell trouble for them.

    We'll just call Nazi Nick, The Salute-er, would want to offend the REAL snowflakes. And, to the topic, Mike Lindell might be permanently damaged from the crack...but I don't think it would actually matter anyway.

    They are digging their heels into the anti abortion kick too. GA just reinstated the 6 wk abortion ban, and IN is going after the doctor that helped the 10 yr old rape victim with an abortion. The whole irony is nearly 100% of them would never make their own 10 yr get an abortion.

    Slowly but surely, America is not basing decision making on religion, and it is infuriating the religious crowd, especially the evangelicals.

    As far as the abortion issue, Herschel Walker is the prime example of their hypocrisy on it.

    He seems more like a HOR candidate than a Senate candidate.
    Senators seem to tend to more serious, and the nutballs relegated to the HOR.
    I'm amazed at some of the candidates we've been presented with over the last couple of years.

    LOL, no, not moderate, but more toward the center from Trump and the MAGA crowd. I haven't seen him entrench himself in the conspiracy theories like some. He is a little too religious based in his decision making for me, but the point was they need to pull back from the edge.
