    The Nevada lawmaker became one of the longest-serving Senate majority leaders in history as he led Democrats in his chamber under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

    John Madden, the Super Bowl-winning coach of the Raiders and longtime NFL broadcaster, died Tuesday, the National Football League announced. He was 85. Madden, a recognizable face and voice of pro football for decades, became the franchise name of a hugely popular football video game.

    Rep. Jim Hagedorn (R-Minn.) dies at 59. He had been receiving treatment for kidney cancer.

    Hagedorn was elected to the House in 2018.
