King Charles III appointed Prince Edward and Princess Anne to be filling in when he's out of town. He could disown Prices Andrew and Harry and I won't be surprised if he actually does.

Baseball pitching legend Gaylord Perry and Football great John Hadl have passed away
Gaylord Perry pitched for the San Francisco Giants, Cleveland Indians (now known as the Guardians), Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres, New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, Seattle Mariners, and Kansas City Royals. Perry was the first Pitcher to be a Cy Young award winner in the National League and American League. His number 36 was retired by the Giants. and only hit one home run. Here's the story:
Like most pitchers, Perry was not renowned for his hitting ability, and in his sophomore season of 1963, his manager Alvin Dark is said to have joked, "There would be a man on the moon before Gaylord Perry would hit a home run."[19] There are other variants on the story, but either way, on July 20, 1969, just an hour after the Apollo 11 spacecraft carrying Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the Moon, Perry hit the first home run of his career.

John Hadl played most of his pro football career with the San Diego Chargers (Now Los Angeles Chargers) He also played for the Houston Oilers, Los Angeles Rams and Green Bay Packers. He was a outstanding player for the Kansas Jayhawks Hadl still holds two Kansas records: longest interception return, a 98-yard run against TCU and longest punt, 94 yards versus Oklahoma.[3]. He wore 21 as a quarterback number which I could not relate to. They were great players. That's all I can say

Former Pope Benedict XVI dies age 95

Benedict XVI, the Pope Emeritus, has died in Vatican City at the age of 95 following a period of ill health.

Had Harry not nuked the filibuster for SCOTUS nominees, it's likely Samuel Alito would have written the dissenting opinion on Dobbs. Harry Reid: pro life all star!

Who's next, my fellow boomers? Jagger & Richards are in their 80s (although I am unconvinced that Richards is in fact a living organism). McCartney, Ringo, Clapton, whatever's left of the Who crew, Rod Stewart, Van Morrison, John Fogerty, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Dylan, Smokey Robinson, Don Henley, Robert Plant, Donald Fagen, Billy Joel, Steven Tyler...

    Any wagers?

Sadly I'm at an age where I'm seeing all my favorite musical legends go. Last week was Jeff Beck, this week David Crosby. I would never wager on the deaths of others, but I think that pool will be depleting on a regular basis going forward (except Keith Richards, of course.)

Lisa Loring who played Wednesday on the Addams Family passed away. I think that leaves John Astin as the only original member left alive.
