Of course but if they can ban them, they can ban any rifle since that is all they are.

If you're able to draw a distinction between an M-16 and an AR-15, then a competent lawyer should be able to do the same when the time comes.

Parabellum is Latin for 'prepare for war'. This must mean that 9mm ammo should be banned.
The Jeep and Humvee were designed for war. So both should be banned.
Camouflage was designed for war. So no sports retailer should be allowed to sell camouflage jackets. They should be banned.

By applying flawed logic most anything could be banned.

If "style" is the problem, then paint the AR-15s sky blue or green. I don't see how banning "style" is constitutional.

Are you also amazed at the lengths publishers and editors will go to justify their obsession with the freedom of the press?

Low-hanging fruit - convince the public these firearms have no place in society and it will support a ban.
There's no rational reason to ban them, they just want to ban whatever they can.

    So is a working nuke.

    It's just regulated.

The "stamp" fee would be $200 bucks, I believe.

Simple. One is semi automatic (the AR15) while the other either has a burst or full auto option (M16/M4.)

Right, because the firearms of the 1770's and the 1970's were basically identical.

Hope people realize that all these civil war enactors carry 'military style firearms' when they go out an play.

I can probably name more similarities than you can name differences. Either way, I can apply the same logic to writing. The founding fathers didn't had access to contact someone from the other side of the world in a matter of seconds.
