Because ... It's Good for a Body . That may be so but a steady decline in Milk consumption has led the Nation's Number One Milk distributor { Dean Foods } to file for bankruptcy. Citing a steady decline in milk consumption over the years. I was always a huge fan of milk.Even after college { couldn't afford milk in college } I purchased and drank Milk { whole milk every day, usually at night }. I went from whole milk in the late 70's and early 80's to 2 % milk. Then 20 years later took the dive and went to skim milk. That lasted about 15 years.I have been off milk for a good 10 years now.I started with Rice milk and then went to Almond Milk. Rice milk is usually refrigerated and Almond milk is not.So there is no drastic concern over spoiled milk.I didn't know until about 5 years ago that Eggs remain fresh for some time.Which makes sense.I don't rcall eggs packaged when I was a teen as having expiration dates.Plus they were put in the refrig in egg compartments. The new Motto by the Dairy department is ... : - We're no longer drinking our Dairy - Because cheese is at an almost all time high in consumption.
@Foolardi I like Whole Milk. Lower fat just doesn't have the right "mouth feel". Lately I switched to Fairlife (Whole) which is really yummy. Have you tried it. The DHA one just isn't as good. Moi Remember: Trump got tough on over milk trade abuses Bush & Obama ignored
europeans are taller than the average American because they drink a lot of milk. they do not get heart attacks from the extra calcium because trade deals make them richer than the average American.
So are laxatives. lol jk All this time, I thought it was about indigestion from milk products. Who knew it was about vegans reducing the amount of titty pulling on cows?
I read somewhere that wifi waves cause a reaction under the skin that causes a calcium increase in the body. I didn't know too much calcium increased heart attacks though... interesting.
Almond Milk has 50% More Calcium than Cow Milk. I saw where Arnold Schwarzenegger adds Almond Milk with his supplements { Raw egg plus shell } into a blender for daily energy drink.Arny also is not a health freak. He likes liquor and cigars.I wonder what he thinks about them Kennedy's. I mean,Maria Shriver was part of the Kennedy's.
I crave whole milk. If I go too long between meals, and I start to feel shakey...the minute milk goes down my throat I feel back to normal and have enough energy to cook a good meal. Milk makes a body feel good. It's got good stuff.
I agree. However ... Milk has too much downside. It's Pastuerized and therefore losses much nutritional value. Plus it expires and in the heat of a summer last this last one it can loose freshness on the way home from the grocery store in one hour's time.Plus it doesn't have near as much Vitamin D and calcium as needed on a daily basis.Almond milk comes flavored { Vanilla } and also sweetened and Unsweetened. Nothing worse than taking a sip of spoiled milk.I never had that experience since I rarely took Milk for granted.I kept a close eye on expiration dates and also making sure it did not sit out on a counter.Goes right back into the coldest part of the frig. I also refuse to drink my faucet { tap } water.I onlk drink quality bottled water.Because Water is far and away The most important thing a human takes in.The body can survive for weeks { up to 30 days } w/o food. But less than a week w/o water.
Only bottled water sourced from City water departments. Which happens to be the lowest priced waters.
the terminator is originally from a first world, western, european, civilisation too much calcium is only bad for the average American.
Somewhat Ironic.Because over the years the pasteurization process so popular in the 60's when I drank a lot of whole milk actually destroyed a lot of it's Vitamin D. Pasteurization destroys the enzymes and carrier proteins needed to absorb calcium,folate,B12,B6,Vitamins A and D,Iron and many other minerals. To absorb these nutrients in Pasteurized milk, the body has to produce it's own enzymes.
This is about ultra filtration not heat based pasteurization. And components recombined. Higher protein. Lower carbohydrate. and Yummy too. Taste it and let me know.
BUTT ! Almond Milk stays fresh much longer, has flavors like Vanilla and possesses 50% more calcium.Milk is fast becoming old hat.Like corporate big wigs feeling the need to wear 3 piece suits. Or their 2-3 martini lunches and possible ordering of stuff like Steak Tartare.Wearing Brooks Bros. and giving Christmas gifts to their significant others { Wife and Mom } c/o of Tiffany's. I don't like it ... but The Times they are a Changin'.
raw milk from the teat has probiotics, almond milk does not. northern europeans have superior gut bacteria over Americans because they still milk cows
The thing is, dairy products are highly regulated, while plant-based alternatives are not but make claims that they are equivalent in nutritional value. Some may, but most are not: "Children who drink alternatives to dairy milk, including soy, almond or rice milks, appear to be slightly shorter than their peers who drink cow's milk, according to new research. The study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, found that for each cup of non-cow's milk children drank per day, they were 0.4 centimeters shorter than the average for their age. Conversely, for each daily cup of cow's milk they drank, children were 0.2 centimeters taller than average. For a 3-year-old, the height difference for those drinking three cups of non-cow's milk compared to three cups of cow's milk per day was 1.5 centimeters." -- https://www.cbsnews.com/news/drinking-non-cows-milk-soy-almond-may-affect-childrens-height-study/ And yes, I Got Milk.
I've given up on milk for anything but recipes. Think about it, what is milk evolutionarily designed for--to make little animals fat. Adult critters shouldn't be drinking milk in general. That said, for kids, milk is a good thing, and they should drink it.
Northern Europeans no more milk cows than Americans do. Most milk on the German market is ultra-pasteurized (meaning it's shelf-stable for 3 months). Yes, they do have the option of buying raw milk directly from the farm, but that's a small part of their market. https://europe.stripes.com/pcs/what-you-need-know-about-basic-german-grocery-items
