    • Klobuchar, 58, was elected to the Senate in 2006, becoming the first female ever to do so in Minnesota.

Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar on Sunday officially joined the growing number of Democratic contenders for her party's presidential nomination in 2020.

"For every American, I'm running for you," she told a crowd gathered on a snowy afternoon at a park along the Mississippi River, with the Minneapolis skyline in the background.

"And I promise you this: As your president, I will look you in the eye. I will tell you what I think. I will focus on getting things done. That's what I've done my whole life. And no matter what, I'll lead from the heart," the three-term senator said......snip~

Ahahahahahaha…...another Clown jumps in the backseat. She announces this after her staff came out talking about how she mistreats them. And no matter what she will lead from the heart. :roflol:

I won't vote for Klobuchar, but only Kasich is better prepared and more worthy to be President than she.

You would vote for Warren, which is good enough for me!

Ironic since she has the best chance of beating Trump...

But if she wants to win the White House she would have to show bi-partisan leadership in order to gain the attention of the Independents at this point...

Fighting in the primaries as a far left loon will earn her a fifth place finish in the primaries. May be a candidate who actually wants to test the waters and plan for a 2024 run.

Now that Warren has her documented Texas Bar application out in the open, that shows that she claimed to be an American Indian, the Dems are sure to nominate her at the DNC convention.

See the problem with her isn't indy's so much. It's moderate Republicans who are not conservative. They didn't vote because they didn't want Trump or Hillary. If Warren (a FAR more extremist than Hillary) is the nominee, they will certainly vote party.

Kind of cool having my state's senator in the running. Whoever ends up getting the Democratic nomination, though, he or she is bound to be pretty awesome and a damned sight better than any Clinton.

For those ingorantly ranting and raving about left-wing lunacy, bear in mind that Minnesota has a healthy mix of liberal and conservative, and Ms. Klobuchar would not be successful here as a far-anything. I'm sure she will bring that kind of appeal to her presidential bid as well. In fact, she may do a lot to help ground the Democratic party and move it back toward center. I think that party, as well as the other one, really needs this to happen. If the GOP sticks with MAGA and he continues to sound the way he always has (and he will, let's face it; it's all he understands), he and the GOP will be swept away in 2020.

    Also ...

The president also nicknamed Klobuchar "snow woman," which Klobuchar joked could be "so much worse."
"What I said back to him was -- when he called me a snow woman -- I'd like to see how his hair would fare in a blizzard," Klobuchar said.

Only the far left liberals would vote for such a radical candidate. None of the current candidates can win.

If Klobuchar had a decent campaign manager she would have a chance. But she doesn't.

Warren has gone off the reservation... She can't help not making a fool of herself at this point.

I think it is strange that Biden has not said anything yet. Iowa will be a total circus if he doesn't get in soon.

With Klobuchar in the race there is no reason for anyone to vote for Warren.

As the nearest to Iowa Klobuchar is in an excellent position to win the state, or at least be tops among the females.
With the present lineup of 7 and 25% a possible victory margin she can wipe 2 of these women off the map immediately.
Minnesotans do well in New Hampshire and have much in common.
Warren may take the Boston suburbs, but if any woman wins the north, it will be Klobuchar.

Klobuchar's first battle is to convince the party that anyone from what they consider the most loyal state in the union is worth considering.
Since they're confident of Minnesota's Electoral Votes they'll not soon consider a Minnesotan for Vice President despite its reputation. Since they consider her Senate wins automatic, she can't say she won against a strong GOP presence.
Neither can Booker, Gabbard, Harris or Delaney.
Warren at least unseated a Republican Senator, but in a state so blue he won because his opponent didn't try.

Bernie and Warren joined the Senate the same day. That makes them comrades in a way others can not become.
His victory in the Minnesota primary in 2016 kept him in the race. It may have been kind words from Klobuchar that put him over the top there. Of course he swept most of the northwest thereafter including Wisconsin to the east.
If he endorses her, she gets the knowledge of the caucus system and might tally up over 20 states.
In this field I could see her getting 40% of the overall vote, eliminating Gabbard in Iowa, Warren after South Carolina and Harris in mid-March.
If Booker is the last man standing it could be much like 2008.
If Delaney lingers she can't fail to take the most states as the 2 men trip over each other.

You are correct but the loonie lefties seem to be leading the party right now. I think the more rational of them are letting them hang themselves with gaffs and stains on their past and then hope someone more rational comes forth. I find it comical that the likes of Howard Schultz was so quickly jumped upon. I suspect it is the same for Tulsi Gabbard who actually is a reasonable candidate but the rabid among the democrat party would stifle either of those two before they ever got on stage.

Truth: it will take a weirdo candidate for the Dems if Trump has any chance at re-election.

Truth: the progressive left is trying to take over the party. Their attacks on Northam is one example.

Truth: the Dems can win the Presidency easily if they nominate a reasonable moderate candidate.

Klobuchar to Disappointed Questioner: No, the Government Shouldn't Guarantee 'Free' Four-Year College.....

Judging by the dejected look on this kid's face, you might assume that the Minnesota Senator had thrown a binder at his head, or something. In fact, Amy Klobuchar had merely declined to furnish him with the big government fantasy he was hoping to hear regarding "free" college. The presidential hopeful began her answer by endorsing more government intervention and more freebies for those pursuing two-year degrees, but stopped short of a sweeping declaration that the federal government should massively expand its spending and guarantees on this front. After walking through her initial response, moderator Don Lemon followed up by asking Klobuchar for the simple 'yes' or 'no' answer the young man had requested. "Would you support free college for all?" he pressed. Response? "No, I am not for free four-year college for all. No." She even invokes a 'magic genie,' to drive home her point. Via the Free Beacon:

What's interesting about Klobuchar, aside from her apparently remarkable ability to hide her volcanic temper and staff abuse from outside observers, is her strategic decision against embracing the insane fantasyland economics that so many of her competitors are clamoring to endorse. Perhaps she's just more clear-eyed and realistic when it comes to the nation's shaky finances than others politicians. Or perhaps she recognizes that the left lane of her party's primary is already very crowded, and there may be a more viable path up the middle -- especially if Joe Biden bows out or gets eaten alive for his past heresies. Is she right?.....snip~

Well Amy the Impaler.....just blew her chance. She doesn't believe in free college for 4 years.

Klobuchar is getting quite a bit of negative coverage from the liberal press over her treatment of staff including retaliations against former employees. I think these reports will hurt Klobuchar's chances in the primaries.

Yep she is going to have a hard time. Now even the NY Slimes is setting her out.

She Made Him Clean...What?! Here Are More Alleged Tales Of Amy Klobuchar Abusing Her Aides....

Well, we have more tales from the crypt concerning Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and her alleged abuse of staffers. Reportedly, these stories are bad, so bad that three people bolted when the Minnesota Democrat approached them to run her 2020 campaign. She has high turnover rates concerning staff and Klobuchar admits that she had pushed staff to hard and can be tough at times. Then, there are former staffers who give glowing anecdotes of their time serving the senator. Some have noted the sexist angle to stories like these since only female lawmakers get reported on how terrible they treat their aides…allegedly. Well, we have some fresh ones that The New York Times found. One of which involved an aide having to clean off a comb that Klobuchar had used to eat a salad. She was also allegedly paranoid that she had an office mole and she made aides do tasks that possibly ran afoul of ethics rules. Her maternity leave policy was also something that was rather…odd [emphasis mine]:

Now, all that said, it seems Klobuchar doesn’t have the temperament to hold higher office being so volatile, something that was highlighted during the appalling character assassination attempt against now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. These are their rules, folks. I’m just making sure they follow them. Oh, and did we forget to mention that there’s a rumor she forced an aide to shave her legs. Yeah, it’s out there; HBO’s Veep even mentioned it.....snip~

Klobuchar comes across as a mild-mannered Midwestern woman until these reports surface that portray a less than appealing leader.

I don't think the negative reporting on Klobuchar has anything to do with her being from Minnesota. Amy doesn't deny these accusations.

Right, how does one eat a salad with a comb? Then the staff member has to clean the food particles from comb teeth!
