Here in Massachusetts, the most highly educated state, we'd like to voluntarily take Ms. Hyde-Smith under our wing for a year and continue her education.

Do you think you can turn her into an America hating lesbian who supports nukes for iran and open borders in just one year?

That sort of brainwashing works better on small children than adults like her

Not at all, as I knew the History before Trump got into Office. Hence the WSJ link after your 2018 links

What.....History going back 3 or 4 years shows the true reality. It appears Mississippi was 2nd to the worst. More than likely been that way for almost a decade.

Oh and never paranoid by anything from the left. Not in this lifetime, the previous one, nor the next one. That is if they can make it to the next one.

Stop it. A lynching was done outside of the justice system, by murderers. A public hanging is what many places in america once saw, by the justice system. My grandpa went to one long ago, here in the town where I live. And no, the person who got hung was not black but white.

That a public hanging was conflated with a lynching is what the stupid did, or the democrats here in Ms. It didn't work. But hell, they used dishonesty as they tend to do these days in trying to win an election.

I've only seen a few of her comments, but no, they made me cringe. Espy on the other hand is too crooked, even for the Clinton's.

Don't forget Al Sharpton had to lie about Hyde Smiths Daughter. Although it was on MSDNC.

But it was funny to hear Sharpton talk about bigotry.

Hugh Hewitt made sure Sharpton was on display with his radio show.

He lied about Hyde Smith was sending her daughter to a school with no blacks. That is was her daughter that wanted it, and that Hyde Smith was following her own past.

Charles Evers, 96-year-old brother of Medgar Evers who was assassinated in 1963, formerly mayor of Fayette, and presently station manager, WMPR 90.1 FM in Jackson, Mississippi:

"She didn't say anything about black folks, she didn't say anything about white folks. She just said if there's a hanging I'll be there in the front row or something like that. She didn't mean nothing like that. She was just saying something. I don't give a damn what other people think."

Yes, IMO, if your mind took her public hanging comment, and turned it into a old black lynching, like the KKK did, in the past, you must be a racist! She never meant anything like that. So the dems look to be racist. By how their minds worked with this comment.

The Piney Woods School is a co-educational independent historically African-American boarding school. . . Today the curriculum at Piney Woods combines strict discipline, Christian teaching and chores with classroom instruction. More than 98 percent of Piney Woods' graduates go on to attend colleges . . . Funded by donations and a significant endowment, the school houses 300 high school students in grades 9 through 12 . . ." Wiki

Tuition is $23,000 per year at this beautiful campus a little south of Jackson, MS.

There's very little difference between well of blacks and well off whites.

The only ones that believe what comes out of Sharptones mouth are leftists. Anyone else knows he is a racist lying deviate.

Okay. But it sure looked like you were blaming the fact they didn't vote democratic on the uneducated to being too dumb to know whom they should vote for. Perhaps I took it wrong. I suppose the Republicans could correlate the lack of education was to the reason Obama was elected, twice.

When one gets down to it, our elections are basically beauty contest. Which candidates appeal to the voters for various reasons. Being young, energetic, charismatic certainly played well for Obama. He was also very likable as a person, that is outside of the very partisan GOP members. Perhaps those qualities influence the less educated more than the rest of the voting groups. The numbers certainly point that way.

With Mississippi, you had a couple of very dull candidates. At least in my mind. Nothing there to change old voting habits. Cook has Mississippi as R plus 9, he has Massachusetts as D plus 12, Massachusetts did elect a Republican governor, so the PVI can be overcome with the right candidate. Running candidates that aren't to far ideological wise out of it, that fits the state, district, whatever is also very important. The Democrats did an excellent job with their House candidates to do just that this year. Kudos to them. Now if the new Speaker, be that Pelosi or someone else doesn't require them to vote against the wishes of the people of their district on key, hot issues, it's possible you could see another 40 years run like between 1955-94. A 40 year run that had very few straight party line votes in the House.

Compared to race? Are you kidding? And again the least educated demographic votes almost 100% Democrat so what exactly is your point about educational achievement and party preference?

Nowhere did I ever suggest that "dumb" = "less educated." I did opine that there is a significant empirical correlation between a state's level of education and its voting patterns. There is no reason that the less-educated should abandon their political agenda in deference to the better-educated, no more than women should to men.

Likability may be the most important factor. That is why demonization of the opposition has become such a priority.

What Pelosi does or doesn't do, what she did or didn't do, seems largely irrelevant to the relentless contrivance of the diabolical image.

In reality, she is a pragmatic, savvy pol. She opposed Bush's contrived Iraq fiasco, opposed his attempts to privatize Social Security, and quashed efforts of her liberal members to impeach him, and seems resistant to the enthusiasm for impeaching Trump. She was essential to the passage of the now finally popular ACA. It's difficult to dredge up anything satanic in her record, but she'll be playing Satan on tv, in GOP campaign ads across the nation.

To be fair, Boston has some of the greatest schools in the world, but some of the dumbest people on the planet...amazing how that happens.

Mississippi is a beautiful state. It's tragic however that for most of it's existence been dominated by Democrats. Only very recently have we seen the GOP finally take a leadership position, but it's going to take some time to undo over a century of Dem leadership
