"On a local talk show the host is claiming that it was Obama that worsened race relations, and how "conservative" MLK was. Of course, he ignores the role bigots like him played in the situation."

The recession didn't start until the end of 2007. The Democrats took the Congress the beginning of 2007. And even adding the special appropriations for the wars into the FY2007, $80B, that only takes you to $241 billion. In just two years with the wars winding down the Democrats took the deficit to $1,400B and kept it over $1,000B for the next 4 years.

You do know claiming someone is lying is a violation of the rules here?

Your "one term" complaints so why would you have expected the Republicans to rally around Obama and get him reelected. Can you point me to when Democrats ever proclaimed they would work to reelect a Republican president?

    So try again
Post exactly what you are talking about the Republicans stating they wanted him to be a one term President. Who are you talking about uttering those words, what was the occasion and to whom was he speaking and what was his entire statement in context.

And then perhaps you can respond to the rest of my post.

So, are you going to point out when I threw Steve Harvey and other "black republicans" under the bus as you asserted, or could we just chalk that up to you race baiting and making up lies about other posters? Just curious.

    More hyperbole...

They were conservatives. They were southern "states rights" conservatives who became Republicans after the civil rights act was passed, and even more so after being pandered to by Richard Nixon and later Reagan. Today, they vote heavily GOP and they voted for Trump. In fact, they are the bulk of Trump AND the GOP's base.
