Walking out is the peaceful protest he was talking about. Jesus Christ, you guys can twist anything.

The difference is that people in HK are campaigning for freedom and democracy for they live under a tyranny. The rioters in America are campaigning for what? Free TV sets?

Would you consider this tyranny? Imagine fearing for your life or your grandson's life over a rolling stop in a neighborhood like this. How about getting tazed over a parking ticket? How about getting shot while protecting an autistic adult from harm while you have your hands in the air lying on the ground and you've identified yourself as his counselor? Young white men don't fear these things nor are they taught by their Mama's to put their hands in the air at the sight of the police.
And the real pisser? More cops are shot and assaulted by Caucasians that blacks.

I'd heard about this but this is the first time I'd seen it.
This has been made to sound a lot worse than it was.
All the guy had to do was pull over and accept his ticket, instead he continued to drive two blocks to get home and then started shouting hysterically. I'd say that the cops acted fairly reasonably here. The guy didn't appear to feel scared for his life, he was more scared about being prosecuted for running a stop sign.
I get your point about minorities feeling that encounters with the police put them at risk of mortal danger but I don't think that this case shows it. All I see is a spoiled brat shouting at the cops and acting like an entitled millennial.

And that in a nutshell is the problem. Until such time as everyone can see the problem existsyexists have larger and nastier protests.
In the case of the councilor he asked the cop who shot him, mercifully only one of the three shots he took hit, the cop's response was "I don't know."

It's obvious that there is a problem, I'm not arguing that there isn't.
I'm just saying that guys like the one in that vid' are really not helping.
He's the perfect example of non-compliance. He refused to pull over, sat in his car for 6 minutes ignoring requests to get out, shouted hysterically and then tried to resist arrest by putting his feet out of the cop car so they couldn't close the door.
Luckily he was arrested by what seemed to be well trained and calm cops. I get the point that he might not have been so lucky but it all could have been avoided if he had acted more reasonably.

Oh right. Being murdered on the street by cops for being a minority isn't a biggie.

AS for why they are rioting, considering the various groups protesting, I'd say there are any number of motivations ranging from rage/frustration, criminality, or perceived political gain like the Bugaloo Bois who were rioting to stick it to the man.
