(CNN)Angry crowds took to the streets in Milwaukee on Saturday night to protest the shooting death of an armed man by a police officer hours earlier.
Protesters burned several stores and threw rocks at police in the city's north side, leaving one officer injured. Smoke and orange flames filled the night

The incident started Saturday afternoon when two officers stopped two people who were in a car in the north side, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.
Shortly after, both car occupants fled on foot as officers pursued them, police said.
During the chase, an officer shot one of the two -- a 23-year-old man who was armed with a handgun, according to authorities.

"He (officer) ordered that individual to drop his gun, the individual did not drop his gun," Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said. "He had the gun with him and the officer fired several times."

Your source left out the gang issues... Of course.... But find any excuse you can for this violence.... On two streets they were actively hunting down anyone that was White.. Keep that in mind.. Oh and shooting at the Fire Department.

Have you a list of communities, predominantly minority, where police aren't taxed to their limits? My city, population 101K has only 14 full time police officers. Never has been an officer involved shooting, and only 4 cases of arson since the city was incorporated (1981) all 4 arsons were insurance fraud.

 

Milwaukee spends higher than the national average per student and ranks 11th of major cities. Your article mentions one zip code where most of the incarcerations happen. The police go where the crime is.

 

"Protesters" only demand media attention once the looting is concluded, and all the evidence has been burned. BLM like ISIS is learning from their mistakes, and evolving in their tactics ...

 

Yeah, that doesn't mean it's being spent in the right places. Voucher systems take money out of schools. Plus I'm taking a fairly reasonable guess that they use property taxes to pay for schools. It's going to lead to educational segregation.

Sure, but only for the purpose of crime or is it building trust in the community? You take a bunch of people out of it, disrupt bonds and what do you do to replace those bonds with? Crime only fuels more crime. Same with only dealing with crime.

I had NPR on this AM while walking my daily 4 miles and the 6:00AM new cast there was reports that a news crew had been threatened and was robbed of their personal and company items including .....SHOES....yes they stole the new crews F- ing SHOES...

Now that must be the way to voice opposition to a criminal being shot. Why would they burn cities when the policies that they set in place benefit them? That's like asking the owner of a farm why doesn't he burn his crop.

And what happens when that choice results in inequality? The purpose of an education is supposed to be an equalizer, so everyone can have an equal chance.

That's kinda weak. Crime fuels crime yes, but so does disrupting the social bonds that gangs create. They create capital in a place where otherwise they couldn't. The reason it's violent is because of the state. The state outlaws behavior, which in turn creates the market. Gangs aren't the problem, it's the result of them interacting with other organizations that is. The way it is now is unhealthy, because the government is overstepping. When you create enough pressure on a criminal organization, they're going to fight back just as bad. Escalation only leads to escalation.

 

Could you cite these 'policies'? Or do you mean laws? Yeah, laws like murder, robbery, assault, rape, etc are racist to the core. lol
