Nope it's the typical leftist form over substance solution. In this case it could well make things worse rather than better.

These weapons of war are not protected by the 2d Amendment.

And you don't even recognize the ridiculousness of this post in relation to the era it was written LMFAO :) The 2cd was written to reflect the weaponry of that era, and it's meaning is progressive with time and changing of armament

A PERFECT example of a strawman argument.

The kids first order should be to picket the high school who was warned over and over this killer was on the loose and promised to kill students. But they attack Trump. Trump has nothing to do with the school.

Were I in their shoes, I would also picket the Sheriffs office that too was warned over and over.

Next place to picket is the local FBI field office. Going to the state capital evades the correct steps for the children to take.

Back in those days, civilians did collect and hide Cannons. I know not why democrats want to confine this to a musket.

    That's a lie.
April 26, 2002, Germany: In the town of Erfurt in eastern Germany, 19-year-old Robert Steinhauser opened fire after saying he was not going to take a math test. He killed 12 teachers, a secretary, two pupils and a policeman at the Gutenberg Gymnasium, before killing himself. Teacher Rainer Heise hugs two students in front of the Gutenberg school three days after the shooting.

Sept. 1, 2004, Russia: Three hundred and thirty three hostages, at least 186 of them children, died at School No. 1 in Beslan, Russia. The school was seized by rebels demanding Chechen independence. The deaths occurred during the chaotic storming of the school by Russian forces. A man carries an injured boy in the school garden during a rescue operation.

Sept. 23, 2008, Finland: Student Matti Saari opened fire in a vocational school in Kauhajoki in northwestern Finland, killing nine other students and one male staff member before killing himself. People place candles near Kauhajoki vocational high school.

March 11, 2009, Germany: A 17-year-old gunman dressed in black combat gear killed more than a dozen people, including nine students and three teachers at the Albertville Realschule school in Winnenden. He fled and later killed himself after a gunbattle with police. Police remove the body of a victim the Albertville Realschule secondary school in Winnenden, Germany.

    And there's more -

garyd has no idea what is a straw man argument.

Or a fallacy of false equivalency, for that matter.

We need an "other" answer choice. Basically speaking, I'm for it. Why? It will ruin the job prospects for a bunch of liberals who won't graduate high school. Meanwhile, my sons, one of which is in college, the other of which likes school enough to want to graduate in a few months, will have a much easier time in the job market. Also, it won't do a damned thing.

I'm just waiting to hear the news that really this is astroturf started by Michael Bloomberg. Locally, "Moms demand action" which is a Bloomberg astroturf anti-gun group has been making a lot of noise.

Wow, the left is using children as political pawns, then accusing the alt Right of doing the same thing? Pot calling the kettle black.

Do I ask you to prove a need to own a computer? A printer? Access the Internet? When you embark on a path that requires people to justify exercising an enumerated right, you're on the path to denying people all of their rights.

A main difference between you and me is that you believe we get our rights from the Constitution and, therefore, the Federal government can be used to take those rights away. I believe all people, not just Americans, have unalienable rights and that the only purpose of government is to protect people from each other. Me owning guns doesn't hurt you anymore than two gays getting married in San Francisco hurts the marriage of a straight couple in Alabama. You, sir, are using the same arguments as those who fought against gay marriage. I disagree with all like you and them.

What a silly perdidochas! Of course the students will graduate. The grandstanding of the goofy alt right is about over, as a million HS students are going to walk right over their faces.

The alt right's attempt to politicize this situation is already broken, and it will get far worse for the creeps.

Telling you you don't know what a straw man argument is when you clerly misused the term isn't an ad hominem. It is information sharing.

Straw Man Arguments: How to Recognize, How to Counter, and ...
    https://effectiviology.com/straw-man-arguments-recognize-counter-use
A straw man argument is a debate technique where a person pretends to refute his opponent’s argument, while actually refuting an argument that is only superficially similar to the original one.

Semantics allows SOME latitude, but should not be exploited to extricate oneself deceptively from frivolous arguments.

In cases like this 30 is the new 25, at least they should be off mom and dads HC policies.

How's that? By declaring a gun free zone? We've all seen how that works out. Like most criminals, the path of least resistance is the common way to go and you know it.
