The SMM continued to monitor the withdrawal of weapons, in implementation of the Package of Measures and its Addendum, as well as the Memorandum.

On 29 January, approximately 2.5km north of government-controlled Aslanove (85km south of Donetsk), an SMM mini unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) spotted four self-propelled howitzers (2S1 Gvozdika, 122mm) near a tent with two-three soldiers visible and stacks of what appeared to be ammunition boxes.

Beyond withdrawal lines but outside of assigned areas in government-controlled Novookhtyrka (55km north-west of Luhansk), the SMM saw three tanks (T-64) on flatbed trucks. South-west of government-controlled Novoaidar (49km north-west of Luhansk), the SMM observed three stationary tanks (T-64). Near government-controlled Pryvillia (85km north of Donetsk), the SMM observed six tanks (T-64) travelling north.

The SMM observed the presence of armoured combat vehicles[2] in the security zone. The SMM saw an armoured personnel carrier (MTLB) with a mounted
anti-aircraft cannon (ZU-23, 23mm) near government-controlled Svitlodarsk (57km north-east of Donetsk). In Stanytsia Luhanska (16km north-east of Luhansk) the SMM saw an IFV (BMP-2) covered with camouflage netting.

At the same time, the UAF delivered a high number of artillery strikes across the contact line with the DPR. However, the common low level of the Ukrainian military staff resulted in a total military failure on the ground.

The attack violated the international agreements made under the Normandy format and was likely aimed to legitimate Kiev’s withdrawal from the Minsk protocol. Pro-Kiev units moved to minefields, suffered major casualties and were pushed to retreat.

Fighting has been ongoing in various parts of the contact line since then. Especially heavy clashes have been ongoing in the area south of Adveevka near Donetsk. Both sides used various military equipment and artillery, including multiple rocket launcher systems (BM-21 “Grad”).

According to information obtained by SouthFront, so far Kiev forces had lost 24 fighters and over 60 were injured (a notable number of them are now in hospitals in the city of Kharkov).​

Killing and firing at civilians is considered genocide ...which is a form of ethnic cleansing. The intent is to claim a territory from the inhabitants living on it. If this wasn't the intent of the nationalists from Galatia, then what are they doing in a land that has never been theirs ...and which they have never even seen or set foot on?

One of the things Poroshenko would tell the nationalists/Nazis like the Right Sector, was that the homes in the Donbas would be theirs once the inhabitants left. So they left the wealthy homes intact and only destroyed the poorer homes. Donbas was considered the wealthiest area in Ukraine, and Galatia the poorest... so basically the Russians of Donbas were supporting the Nazis in Galatia province.

It might be why the nationalist government in Kiev didn't want to federalize. Russia felt though that if they did federalize and were able to form their own trade deals with the EU the way the Donbas had trade deals with Russia, they would have been better off economically. Thinking in productive terms though is difficult for people who react only to their passions of hatred and anger. It's similar to what we're seeing with ISIS in the Middle East. Because of firings of the Ukrainian army, Donetsk and Makiivka were left without water again.

Also Ukraine continues to fire at the Donetsk mines. Only yesterday it was succeeded to finish, at last, operation on rescue of 200 Donetsk miners blocked after shelling in the mine. Today the Ukrainian military continue fire at other Donetsk mines.

The hospital in Makiivka has undergone firing.

In Donetsk the ambulance car has come under fire. The ambulance driver and the doctor were wounded.

I give 'the' Ukraine no more than 6 months. The British said that Russia can defeat their forces in 12 hours, well the Novorussian forces can defeat Ukraine in 3 hours. You people are living on borrowed time.
