I caught the end of a programme on the box last nite, where some politician was saying that they
intended tabling legislation whereby if anyone hit the ASIO watch list, they would automatically be
deported. Not sure of the details, as I only caught the last bit, but certainly an improvement from just putting someone on a watch list, and then having an attack eventuate.
If they are on the list, they are gone in my book...no charges, no court appearances, no botched up communication between authorities,no bail granted in error....just gone.....

But then again, the proposed legislation might be just a thought bubble...we will have to stay tuned.....
The catalyst for addition to such a watch list would have to be extreme
    to warrant deportation.

    You disagree do you?
Are you suggesting that terrorists are simply radicalised on the internet?
Anything a jihadist learns from the net, I would imagine it could/would
be reinforced by an iman at a mosque.
If that is the case, then such imans should be charged with inciting terrorism and
    the mosque closed down.
Of course, it all depends on the strength of Police allegations.
The proof would be in the pudding, so to speak.

There is an ******** who posts on another Forum whose catch cry is that very expression. I cannot be so unlucky to have run into him again...can I?

The Imans and clerics are the ones who know the scripture of the Islamic religion, most Muslims do not,
Until someone tells them. Very few actually read the text.

What else can be done with them, that is the question? And they know the answer? They're toying with us until they're ready.

Before we start closing mosques, we should try finding these bored suggestible young people jobs to occupy their time. They wouldn't therefore spend all their time being brainwashed by YouTube videos.

Youre kidding arent you...finding them jobs to occupy their time...
A potential jihadist is not interested in a job...
Are you suggesting that if they get a job they wont become radicalized...
    Get serious...
Mosques have to be closed down if the iman is found to be complicit in radicalization of people.

Does Australia has death penalty ? A rope around the neck is a good way to prevent jihadists to try back to kill people.

Australia should have learned from the consequences of what happened in France and UK.

Im saying that bored poverty stricken people are ready tools for Isis. It also helps if they are mentally retarded like one of the other three who are in court at the moment.
Ps. The Imans who may or may not be radicalizers are a different kettle of fish and should face the force of the law. Religious leaders who abuse their powers are repugnant. EG the priests of the Catholic Church, who have abused little kids.

It's a debatable statement. There is relativly poor muslim countries with few terrorism and there is relativly rich muslim countries with a lot of terrorism. For instance, Tunisia which is poor compared to the western world but rich for an african country had a lot of ISIS fighter. Morroco which is poorer had much less. Saudi Arabia had a lot of ISIS fighters, but is extremly rich.

The big problem is that western nations are extremly weak and can't really deal with that kind of people.

Why do you think the problem is there, to start with? Before we start to decide whether or not western countries are weak? Do you think it is Western Imperialism or Muslim need to rule the whole world?
Perhaps it's just a new version of the spread of Islam leading to another Crusade. I don't know.
I do think that most people are reasonable( unless they are mad) and there is a reason for unreasonable behaviour.

Well, yes, of course, boredom and poverty are excuses for terrorist activities...pardon my sarcasm..
There must be thousands of bored poverty stricken people out there that are not
    terrorists in the making.
Perhaps these terrorists can plead boredom and poverty in court and maybe get a good
behaviour bond or community service etc..
I dont think many people would agree with you that a job for a terrorist will stop them from
being a terrorist. Im afraid that is totally illogical.

I just think that islamic civilization isn't compatible with something than itself, and sometimes, even with itself it's problematic (shia-sunni conflict or Algerian civil war). They manage to get a balance in some regions of Africa, but not all parts of Africa.

    Salafi-jihadism is almost everywhere.

The problem of islamic violence can't be solved by anyone than people of the islamic civilization. However, I wouldn't be surprized there will be a wave of atheism in some muslim countries soon or later. Islam try too much to controle people, and if you try to controle people, they will be an opposite force to appear and try to break the controle. I wouldn't be surprized for instance if in 40-60 years, Iran would be an atheist majority country, I would be probably dead however so I will never know. We can have the same kind of suppositions with Tunisia.
In the same way that southern american ultra violence can be solved only bu southern american.

However, for non muslim countries, to have peace, there is no other solutions to treat jihadism as a sickness, and isolate themselves as much as possible from muslim countries.

    sarcasm is ok- no problem.
Bored people look for something to do- posting on a forum, posting on a Jihadi site, posting on Soldier of Fortune, buying crap on EBay.
Being a bold, bad jihadi is more interesting than being an unemployed nonentity.
