1. Islamophobia watchdogs have identified more than 500 potentially anti-Muslim incidents in the U.S. since the start of the year. And that’s probably a low estimate..... It’s part of a troubling trend of hate that started surging in 2015, said Abbas Barzegar, national research and advocacy director at the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). CAIR’s chapters across the country track anti-Muslim bias incidents. Although their numbers are still tentative, the count is troubling. “We’ve already reported over 500 incidences of anti-Muslim bias or harassment just this year so far,” Barzegar told The Daily Beast. “That’s very preliminary reporting. I know a number of our chapters have not filed their reports yet… I believe that’s a very low estimate already of what’s happening across the country.”... Anti-Muslim hate had a “demonstrable uptick” in the 2015 election cycle, Barzegar said. Donald Trump’s campaign, which arrived midway through that year, capitalized on the hate. “It was the rhetoric coming out of Trump’s campaign that certified that,” Barzegar said. “We started to see things in Trump’s campaign, rhetoric-wise, that was typically very far off on the margins: things you would find on far-right radio or the outskirts of the internet. Now it’s becoming so acceptable and mainstream.”.... 2. Erik Love, a professor at Dickinson College and the author of Islamophobia and Racism in America, said that Muslims in the US are living in an unprecedented time. "Here we are in a way that's unprecedented since at least the 1960s. We have the American president speaking from the bully pulpit of the White House, speaking as the leader of the free world, using explicitly racist language directed at members of Congress," he told Al Jazeera. In addition to pursuing policies, such as rescinding the travel ban and rolling back discriminatory counterterror operations like the FBI's use of confidential informants in Muslim communities, engaging with Muslims at an historic event like this week's Muslim Collective for Equitable Democracy should be a priority for politicians and presidential candidates, Love said. "An event like this is really important because it highlights the way that Islamophobia is not a small sideshow in American politics; it is central to the way that American politics plays out today," Love said.... 3. Western countries, particularly the US, try to keep up appearances of religious tolerance but what's happening on the ground is entirely different. Just look at the massacre of thousands of Bosnian Muslims in 1995. Bosnian Muslims are Europeans, yet their own kind tried to wipe them off the map because of religion. In the US, Trump and his supporters ramped up attacks on Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, the first two Muslim women in Congress. He accused Rep. Ilhan Omar of professing a “love” for al Qaeda and talking about “how great” and “how wonderful” al Qaeda is. If a Muslim runs for president in the US, the white propaganda machine would focus its attack on his or her religion as though non-Christians are unfit to govern the country. For instance, Donald Trump was making headlines for questioning the place of birth and religion of President Barack Obama as far back as 2011. The white propaganda machine also alleges two Democrats (Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren) who have announced their candidacy for the Presidency, have direct ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and the American Communist Party. Islamophobia is particularly dangerous in the US because of the easy access to guns. Any Tom, Dick, or Harry could fire at any Muslim or attack a mosque at will.

Probably don't want to hear this but when I think 500 incidences I think that's a pretty damn low number, so good job. However they Define an incident or bias. I'd bet the over on this. but only 500 is pretty good.
Fake? Go and ask Abbas Barzegar, national research and advocacy director at the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). He can swear on the Koran while you swear on the Bible.
Oh, and the rise of anti-Semitic hate crimes has skyrocketed in NYC and all are perpetrated by blacks.
I wonder how many nerds are beaten every year by athletes. Something tells me that it's more than 500.
CAIR is a known terror sympathizer and funds terror. I'd believe what they say when it snows in hell.
...only 500 is pretty good? My great friend, even "one is no good" if "that one" is either you or your family member.
"Potentially 500 anti Muslim incidents", huh? If we're talking 'potential' here, and Muslims want to magnify their victimhood status, why not say "potentially 5,000"? Stop the terrorism and perhaps these religious nutcases will gain some respect.
And how many of any group has been beaten or robbed. This Muslim as victim silliness has gotten out of hand. They should be laughed at.
Abbas Barzegar and the author definitely agree with you. Islamophobia watchdogs have identified more than 500 potentially anti-Muslim incidents in the U.S. since the start of the year. And that’s probably a low estimate.....
Here are some family members which may interest you, and they were not 'potential' victims. These were real people at a concert in Manchester.
of Course I agree. But seriously 350 million people and we have five hundred instances? I mean I'm not high fiving over that one but I'm certainly not seeing an epidemic.
