women get less punishment (typically) cause they help the govt give the womens' MEN harsher punishment, then they go visit the man in prison and cry about the unfairness of it all.

Misandry is is becoming more and more evident and is fueled by radical feminists that are either too psycologically ugly or too defiant to have any kind of deep spiritual relationship with a man and have probably never experienced a truly fulfilling orgasm. Their hatred of anything male has extended into the media as well. Boys these days mostly see men depicted as ignorant oafs at best in the media. It is no wonder that as these boys reach puberty they have at least some distrust of women in general and in extreme cases abject disrespect for women.

In the past, it was generally unacceptable to have sex without commitment. Yes, it happened anyway but at least society promoted a strong family unit and that strong family unit is the foundation of any strong society. Today, we celebrate uncommitted sex and give our children the means to do it. Today, there is really no reason for a man to get married simply because he can get sex (which is what all men want) without the least bit of commitment. Chances are if a little 'mistake' happens, she will have it removed anyway.

Yep it does, as easily shown simply by reading the actual report from the PEW site itself and not the misrepresentation and lies from lifesite, which you fell for hook, line and sinker.

I found some data that suggests that 66% of divorces are initiated by women.
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/rela...-do-women-initiate-divorce-more-than-men.html

I am not saying there is something wrong with feminism but maybe there is a reason many men are afraid of marriage.

-over 50% of marriages end in divorce

-over 70% of those divorces are initiated by women

-Divorce/Family courts find in favor of the woman 8 times more often than they do the man

The odds of a marriage ending in divorce are too great, and the consequences of divorce too severe to make marriage an intelligent decision for men.

Or anyone conversant with the actual facts:
    http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/02/u...ut-the-myth-lives-on.html?_r=0&abt=0002&abg=1

It is no longer true that the divorce rate is rising, or that half of all marriages end in divorce. It has not been for some time. Even though social scientists have tried to debunk those myths, somehow the conventional wisdom has held.

The divorce rate peaked in the 1970s and early 1980s and has been declining for the three decades since.

About 70 percent of marriages that began in the 1990s reached their 15th anniversary (excluding those in which a spouse died), up from about 65 percent of those that began in the 1970s and 1980s. Those who married in the 2000s are so far divorcing at even lower rates. If current trends continue, nearly two-thirds of marriages will never involve a divorce, according to data from Justin Wolfers, a University of Michigan economist (who also contributes to The Upshot).

And in order to reach even those levels of divorce, you have to count divorces that occur at ANY point in a marriage -- even at the 30-years-or-more mark. Is a marriage that lasts 20 or 30 years before divorce a "bad decision"? No.

Marrying on a whim will almost always be a bad choice, but then it always was. But as long as you take marriage seriously -- and think objectively about the person you're marrying and your reasons for marrying them -- there's nothing stupid about getting married.

Well, yeah the more recently someone gets married the less likely that marriage has resulted in a divorce and men are getting wise to the scam that is marriage so men who believe in equality are less likely to get divorced because they were never married in the first place.

it's having KIDS that render men in big trouble in divorce court. Get a vasectomy and the odds are 10x higher that you'll not get 'raped" in divorce court. if you truly WANT kids (in the US), then be prepared to pay the FULL cost of raising them. If you'll be honest with yourself about this, you'll GET the vasectomy, or you'll emigrate to some country where your current savings/investment lets you retire comfortably, before having kids with a local woman. If passing on your genes and raisiing your kids well really means so much to you, these 2 are your only (legitimate) options.

LOL! It isn't fault of anyone the left invents such goofy notions as "social justice" in order to play identity politics. Too bad they have no good ideas and have to resort to fear mongering.

Seems to me it's simply a result of a cultural change in which both cohabitation without marriage and divorce are both more socially acceptable than they used to be. In the old days, people would stay in an unhappy marriage because it was expected of them. In this sense, the decrease in marriage rates can be seen as a good thing, because people aren't being trapped when things change anymore. There's still women of all kinds, and it's easier than ever to find them with things like dating sites.

It seems obvious, but maybe you live somewhere unlike where I live. What part of it doesn't seem obvious to you? Do you dispute that people used to be not okay with cohabitation before marriage, or that they are okay with it now? Cohabitation becoming more common: http://articles.latimes.com/2013/ap...ving-together-before-getting-married-20130404

If people are cohabiting, they are not married. At a minimum, this delays marriage. In some cases, it allows people to see they are not compatible before marriage. Perhaps more importantly, if it is okay to cohabit before getting married, where is the motivation to get married? In the old days, a guy often had to marry a girl before having sex with her. These days, that's pretty unusual outside of religious subcultures. If neither parter had to get married before sex, that's one less reason to get married for both sides. When you can live together, you can be partners in basically the same way that people had to marry for in the past. People didn't cohabit before marriage because of fear of social repercussions - these days they obviously can do so without such social repercussions.

Now, in terms of divorce. Few people get married with the intention of ever getting a divorce, but divorce becoming acceptable very obviously makes it so that unhappy marriages can end while they couldn't before. Between 1970 and 2010, states increasingly passed "no-fault" laws that made it easier to get a divorce simply because people were unhappy, rather than having grounds such as the other person being abusive.
