Now I'm sure this is not the headline Scott Morrison was hoping for, I do however like what he said...

In retrospect, it surprises me that no other world leader has remarked on this since the start of the Trump Presidency. Perhaps everyone was so taken by surprise by Trump's aggressiveness they have yet to reflect on the precedent it is setting.

One of, inter country relationships = sum of deals. Reducing everything down to money.

Well if this surprises you I think you're in for quite a number of surprises. From what I'm seeing he's owning this job,

Scomo on the Pacific...giving Australia its own identity on foreign policy.....let's hope he falters and trip up somewhere because at this rate he's totally rocking the PM'ship

'Transcends all that': Morrison’s Solomon Islands visit not just about China-US tensions

The Libs will have to do some thinking about climate change- all those Pacific countries will want help with dealing with rising sea levels.
Australia has dropped the ball when it comes to our relationship with Pacific nations.
I think it all went to sh#t when Frank B took Fiji back for the Fijians.
We haven’t been friends since then.

I'm only vaguely familiar with Fijian history Sally... I'll look it up at some point.

True re climate change and the Pacific, they are after all the first to go under.

I think the problem is that you are not hearing from everybody around the world. Just as the media in Australia is focused on printing what you will buy, they also do not print what they consider will not sell. Thus, with the media narrowing what you see, the isolated view could be forgiven.

However, the fact that Morrison takes critical view upon the geopolitical relationships is not new, it is hardly provocative considering the comments from others, including China which strains the relationships America has made over the years.

While you think Canada, Mexico and others have been chased on the international relationships should you search more, you will find more issues with the deals the US have made. One of the most serious issues you see, is the US moving away from global market pushing other nations to trade without them. Manufacturing will start to increase costs through the eyes of increase wage costs, increased resources until the US faces the same issues of Australia where prices make the product uncompetitive in its own right.

You have to also understand, that Trump’s nationalism approach opens the door for Chinese to supersede the economic supremacy of the US. Australians don’t see the comments made around the world by many other world leaders and officials because basically, they don’t sell papers in Australia. But it is interesting to see an Australian government member who does not ***** foot around about these things…
