What it did was send good journalists such as Scott Ritter and Chris Hedges into weeks and months long searches for other platforms so they could be heard again. And the reason they were even there in the first place was firm U.S. government control over western MSM that we all can clearly see exists. Also its clear its not lies the U.S. gov. fears. Its the truth they fear.

Destroying RT America left more sheepish folks with the choice of finding and turning to other voices, or directly accessing Russian websites during a time of sanctions. No surprise most caved in and gave up trying to oppose the media industrial complex.

Isn't it funny how someone can bark about a free press and wanting to hear all sides one minute, then can turn around and claim there was not enough audience and so despite the timing it must have been a pure business decision? And I get in trouble for ridiculing such obviously duplicitous BS and saying they lie when they clearly are. The disrespect did not start with me.

BTW troll farms are absolutely real. Some are run by the Russian government. And some are run by the U.S. government. And trolls are all scum regardless which side they work for.

So, not only do we have an illegitimate, totalitarian government deciding to cede a territory, but we also know that the decision wasn't one of the rare times in which that totalitarian government was acting in good faith, but to the contrary, it was acting on their knowledge of the total control they exercised.

It seems to me that once that totalitarian government was ousted, the Russian people wouldn't reflect too kindly on that.

If Trump ruled as an actual dictator for a time, as Kamala and crew seems to fear, and as one of his many illegitimate actions, he ceded Southern California to Mexico, it wouldn't be a good argument, after he was eventually ousted, to say that decision rested on sound principles.

 

The ONLY way it would is if it was fairly certain to all that the people of Southern California wanted to join with Mexico and leave the U.S. It pains me that when talk of ceding territory or territory lose through rebellions come up, few people's minds ever go to the right of self-determination, when that should be the VERY FIRST place EVERYONE'S minds go to!

The people of Ukraine have nothing but disdain for the people of Crimea, and so, the feeling is mutual. Evidence? There is only one fresh water inlet into Crimea. Its a canal that comes off the Dnipro River. What did the Ukrainians do in 2014 when Russia annexed Crimea? They cut off the water! You don't do that if you think your loved ones are being held hostage! That's what you do when you hope the whole lot of them die of thirst! I cannot see the Crimean people forgiving 8 years of drought in their lifetime. Why 8 years? Because one of the first things the Russians did when the 2022 invasion happened was to unblock the canal.

To try and equate your fantasy of Trump ceding California is very very wrong. Unlike Mexico which is and was a separate country Ukraine and Russia were at that time part of the USSR. The Crimea was part of the RFSSR hence the “cession” of the Crimea was nothing but an internal administrative act. Ceding California to Mexico would be like Russia ceding Siberia to China obviously a foreign country.
