Yes, strange that, given the history of the "western world" and all.

In what way strange? The history of the West is that of Europe dominating the world in all fields.

So we agree that white supremacy is the truest expression of the American, and Western, spirit.

I'm under 65, not an American, am a Green voter, and I got a perfect score. I actually got a lower score in the practise Australian citizenship test I did a while back because they asked a question about cricket and I hate sports and had no idea.

The poll didnt ask participants who they voted for so how do you know they're Democrats? Given my lack of knowledge of the details of the Australian constitution I think it's a safe guess that apathy, complacency and lack of engagement with the democratic process is what accounts for the fail rate In the US.

What it also means, and I'm speaking from the experience of hosting an international student who's desperate to get Australian citizenship is that her level of interest in politics is far higher than mine because she doesn't take democracy and freedom of speech for granted like many of us do. My guess is while Americans fail the test, a motivated Guatemalan desperate to escape gang violence will pass it with flying colours.

Mmmh ... since when are Rednecks & Co. Democrats again?

I can still vividly recall a video from a poll where a few of these hardcore US patriots, strangely enough, always hoisting the Confederate flag, were asked to name a country starting with the letter "U".

The answer was not United States of America or USA for short ... but "Utopia"!

So I'm very sure that these 60% or your 85% were more of that righty type.

Most on the right are either middle class or upper middle class.

Most on the left are the very poor or the very rich (limousine liberals).

So you need a government study to form an opinion.

It seems the respondents were not classified as to which party they belonged to, and so ignorant voters is a good point, but a bipartisan phenomenon.

Yes, voters are ignorant, but our irrational and immoral duopoly contribute heavily to that fact. Ignorant voters are why we have the government we deserve.

I took my oath of citizenship in L.A about 20 years ago.
I was amazed how many at the swearing in ceremony needed someone with them to translate :confusion:

America was founded on slavery, Jim Crow, school segregation, red lining, institutional racism and white privilege. How can you say it is not even remotely White Supremacist?

During the progressive era in America and Europe, progressives who use science to fix the ills of society conducted numerous studies and the conclusion was caucasians were superior.

Now the Japanese who don't use science came to the conclusion that the Japanese were superior and Germanatics came in second place.

Now Mexicans as a nation has a inferiority complex mucho grande.

Well at least you got it right and treated "Utopia" as a proper noun.

They could both be right about the appalling ignorance of the supporters of major parties.

Most citizens of most countries would fail a citizenship test for their own country. Because you are born in a country does not mean that you automatically know about the constitution or laws of the country, or that you paid attention in school. I am frequently amazed at the 'man on the street' interviews that reveal the shocking ignorance of much of the population.

That said, most long time drivers would fail the written driving test. Questions are asked that have nothing to do with 'driving'.

I didn't say that. I took issue with your "truest expression" characterization.

All those "white supremacists" held an almost equal animus to ethnicities of the same color as they did to those of different ones. Culture had as much to do with imperialism as mere birthright conceit.
