My friends told me about a biker tradition
    ...

You need a bell to ward off the Gremlins.

Road Gremlins exist fairly near the road as The story goes they jump onto your engine.

You can't just buy a bell and put it on there yourself someone who loves you or is your friend has to give you this bell....

It does not have to be anything particularly fancy it's just a bell.....

So anyhow... You're supposed to take this Bell and hang it off the lowest point of your bike which is typically below the engine.

So this is to keep the road gremlins away and the Gremlins are tricky sneaky little bastards and they'll make you wreck.

So I would assume that my friends had told me about this will soon buy me a bell.

As the tradition goes this Bell stays with this bike.

If I sell this bike this Bell goes with the bike.

It's kind of on par with the superstition that if you hand someone a knife that's open they're not supposed to close it and give it back to you but they give it to you the way you gave it to them.

I'm not generally prone to superstition but I'll humor and I'll wear the Bell.

I bet them damn road gremlins also attack cars and trucks and ships and planes!

It almost feels like I should draw a circle of salt around the bike and myself and throw a pinch over my left shoulder!

But I do have zero plans to sell this bike.

If everything goes well and I keep up on the maintenance I should have this bike in 20 years.

I don't even want to sell my
    motorized 79cc bicycle.

I would not have paid such an exorbitant amount of cash if I wanted to sell the bike I would have never bought it.

So you Gremlins stay the hell out of my way or I'll run your tiny green asses over. I'm going to call Flo from progressive who I already have insurance on my van with and I'm going to double up and I'm going to have insurance on this too!

Dogs are really funny when you get into the pack dynamics and the "they're all really wolves" thing. That's sorta why I prefer cats, you KNOW they're really wild things who will eat you if you pass on

OTOH I had old Renny. A Malemute who slept at the foot of what had been my mother's bed for ten years after she died. He was her dog and that's all he ever wanted to be.

    Something I have learned....

In the State of Florida you are not required to have motorcycle insurance. But if you do not have insurance you are required to wear a helmet in addition to glasses whether you have insurance or not.

I was rather surprised to learn that motorcycle insurance is very cheap. But I think it's only liability insurance and I don't think it covers your ass if you go down.

I guess the rationale is... You are on a bike, the amount of damage to another vehicle you can do it fairly limited.

After all it's a game of rock paper scissors and physics right!

    That's pretty cool man.

I love the hell out of my dog, you know he's a little pain in my ass... he's kind of like a little spring that never relaxes.....

But he does have one redeeming quality.... When I'm asleep or have to go to work he stays in a crate in the house and he shuts the hell up.

If he did not act like a good boy in the house I don't know what I would do?

So come on y'all what kind of bike do you drive.... What kind of four wheeler or side by side do you have?

Anything with a motor what is it? Even if it's a go-kart...

I don't care what it is if it has a motor please tell me about it.

So what kind of toy do you have? Anybody want to buy a motorized bicycle for $600?

Just under 50% retail and I broke it in and babied it really well.

As long as you don't want to go more than 25 miles an hour it will take you wherever you want to go.

I'm just kidding... Until I get some practice on my real bike I'm not selling my motorbike.

You need at least a valid driver's license to operate one... So until I go and get a motorcycle endorsement that's what I'm going to ride.

Now when I get my motorcycle endorsement I may sell it and probably I won't cuz I love that little thing

Between two functioning motorbike and my van.... Something will be turn key ready.

What you can't see in the shed on the other side of my recumbent bicycle... Is my 29 inch steel frame single speed mountain bike with disc brakes front and rear. It's a full rigid bike but it ain't a bad one either it was 500 bucks back in his day.

I was going to get one of those 79cc 2-stroke motor kits and put on it cuz that'll push it like 35 mph..... But at this point I think that would be a little redundant and I'm not in a hurry to do that. Lol.

    @ButterBalls

    You see my steeds man?

The gateway drug next the new and better drug!

Some people smoke it some people snort it some people shoot it and some people ride it. Some people jump out of perfectly good airplanes or ride it on the back of a 1600 pound bull..

We all have the monkey on our back in some way shape or form.

Wait... Can I even still say that anymore, is that okay? Lol IMG_20220523_134740_3.jpg

66 miles on the odometer and I just changed the oil and filter myself.

Fortunately the crankcase has a glass round sight window. You can literally check your oil just by looking down between these two marks. I used a good k&n oil filter. And 10W-40 4-stroke motorcycle oil.

I don't think I'll be taking my bike back to the dealership even though I purchased an extended 2-year warranty on top of the factory one year. I heard a couple of people tell me horror stories about their service department.

So I went online and looked and I found some of the worst reviews you would ever hear. Like lots of them and very few positive ones.

So does anyone else around here ride bikes or ATVs or anything? Got a mud truck? Got a swamp buggy? Airboat, anything?

Yes, seldom does a day go by I’m not on an ATV for part of the day. We have two Yamaha Grizzly 450 ATVs and a Yamaha Bruin 250 ATV. Spent a couple hours on the ATVs today driving cows out to pasture.

You have seen the Harley 883 Sportster. We also have a Sportster 1200 custom and my wife has a Honda Rebel 250.

I’m currently shopping for a good used Polaris Ranger or equivalent. My wife wants something she can haul more bags of cattle salt and mineral with than the four wheeler. :)

Love MTB's, I have two. I have a pre-genesis Gary Fisher Montare, a hardtail with a mix of XT and XTR parts on it, I've ridden that bike in Texas, Georgia and South Carolina. I have a thousand or more miles on it over the years.

My other MTB is a Titus RacerX, with 10th anniversary Hayes hydraulic disc brakes, carbon fiber levers, Easton Monkey Bar carbon fiber handlebars, Thompson seat post and stem, DT Swiss wheels, with a Buzz Off saddle and Time ATAC pedals. It is a double boinger, with a race shock up front that back in it's day cost $800+.

    Also have a 250 Vstar, a 650 Vstar, a 1300 Vstar, and two 1900 Stratoliners.

My wife has a custom built Alpinestar bicycle with some XT stuff on it. A pretty cool bike.

It's not hard to put $3,000 in a mountain bike.

And with XTR parts I'm sure you could probably exceed that easy enough.

I need to get out and ride my bikes more now that I've gotten fat and lazy with motors....

I won't be peddling much with this bum foot for a while.

Just got home from work having been on it most of 8 hours and it's one sore son of a b****!

I guess I might need to go get an x-ray in a day or two if it's not getting any better.
