You are correct that it is a policy difference, not a law difference. The policy difference is: Trump wants to enforce the law against illegal immigration; Obama wanted as many illegals to enter the US, relocate them around the country, and eventually become Democrat voters as he could.

But, then, that is likely the hope of the Democratic Party and MSM. To have children housed with adults - so then we hear of how evil Trump is because of migrant children being raped and murdered in detention centers for being housed with adults.

 

He never pushed to my knowledge to punish employers sufficiently to take away the carrots. Of course congress never included that in any bill. He had the right idea though. Go after the carrots as a part of the mix to stop illegal immigration.

Yes, when a parent, for example, breaks the law by committing robbery, they are then separated from their family (prison, of course.) So the solution is simple: don't break the law!

Well- we're are not an entity with an obligation to service the rest of the world on demand. They have Zero claim to rights and privilege from us- and whatever we decide to allow as our policy is not subject to their review an approval. If you don't like the waiting time, apply somewhere else.

Getting permanent residence is fairly easy in Panama, which is a hell of a lot closer to the Central American sources of most immigrants than the USA.
Brazil is also fairly easy to get residence in. However both countries frown on illegal immigration and are now tightening their laws.
Seems that sooner or later every nation realizes that uncontrolled immigration is a disaster.
