Then why is a federal prosecutor in charge? (Besides, money laundering is both a federal and state crime.)

LOL. Yes it can be. And both avenues are being pursued...and Mueller is co-ordinating with state authorities on it.

    Try and keep up

So they would be tried under state law and not Federal law, I guess.

But I believe that what they really fear is that Trump might pardon witnesses preemptively if they are held in contempt or if they commit perjury. That way allowing them to lie under oath or to not respond to questions. or subpoenas My understanding is that he would not be able to do that if the orders are issued by state courts.

    No. It deals with SF86.

Please tell me you don't know what I'm talking about so I can laugh at you some more!

Mueller might be coordinating with his puppy dog but that doesn't answer the questions.

But I'm still missing it. Since Mueller only prosecutes federal laws, who is going to prosecute any state law? How is it that Mueller's federal grand juries might hand down indictments on state laws???

Part of the problem is that "subpoena" isn't really a verb, we just use it that way to save words. Any prosecutor has the power under law to issue a subpoena. The recipient is required to respond or face contempt charges. The remedy for what you describe is for the lawyer to go the judge with a motion to quash the subpoena based on attorney client privilege.

Of course, when any kind of privilege is invoked, millions of ignoramuses will smirk and say, "I told you he was guilty."

He won't. He may make a reference to violation of state law in a report.

    Why are you so confused?

Do you not understand that there are state prosecutors? That Mueller is not the only prosecutor investigating the goings on in Trump Tower?

Dan Rather says Trump is ‘seized with fear’ over Mueller investigation

Donald Trump has previously referred to the FBI's Russia probe as a "witch hunt," but according to Dan Rather, the commander in chief is worried.

The journalist and news anchor appeared on MSNBC on Wednesday and he commented that he thinks President Trump is "seized with fear" over special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

Rather added: “He's trying to exude power and strength. He's afraid of something that Mueller and the prosecutors are going to find out."

I've seen that thread. Lots of unsourced accusations and little to no proof.

It doesn't matter to the liberal progressives. All that is needed is the Alinsky repetition of a lie to convince them. And of course all that is based on their assumption of goodness.

Obviously no one will know that until the investigation is complete, that is how an investigation works.

This would be the reason for coordination between Meuller and the state AG/DA, Meullers team will provide data and evidence to allow them to pursue their cases and vice versa.
