I agree. Nothing will solidify a win in 2020 across the board like those idiot Democrats in Congress starting impeachment hearings.

Go after Barr as well, I say. Makes the Democrats look small and petty and downright scared of what Barr will find.

I think they have made a mistake in not accepting the Mueller report. I believe they are attempting to discredit Barr because of their concern for his ongoing investigations into the spying. If they want to go for impeachment, then they need to do it and stop the threats. In the end, I highly doubt they will follow through, as they know it will never happen.

I doubt it would be strategically wise. I doubt even more that it would be unjustified.

Whether or not he committed the original crime is irrelevant. It's still illegal to obstruct an investigation.

    No, I'm afraid not.

    Obstruction requires corrupt intent.

Good luck convincing a judge that Trump had corrupt intent to obstruct an investigation into something he didn't do.

    STATEMENT BY FORMER FEDERAL PROSECUTORS

The Mueller report describes several acts that satisfy all of the elements for an obstruction charge: conduct that obstructed or attempted to obstruct the truth-finding process, as to which the evidence of corrupt intent and connection to pending proceedings is overwhelming. These include:

    · The President’s efforts to fire Mueller and to falsify evidence about that effort;

    · The President’s efforts to limit the scope of Mueller’s investigation to exclude his conduct; and

    · The President’s efforts to prevent witnesses from cooperating with investigators probing him and his campaign.

    :roflol:

You just bumped a thread that hadn't been posted in for 18 days to post THAT?:bored:

    Wow.:roflol:

And, to the topic, Trump obviously Obstructed Justice (the only reason that he wasn't indicted is that he is a sitting President).

^That is a FACT (and everybody knows it).

Please, Try to get up to speed.

    Thanks in advance.:salute:

Oh no, some unnamed sources have an opinion.

Baloney. The POTUS can't obstruct his Constitutional authority to fire someone in the executive branch. It's been done before, regardless.

Again, Constitutional power of the POTUS.

Baloney. The POTUS never stopped witnesses from cooperating with investigators. Mueller had free reign to question anyone he wanted and did so.

All the POTUS had to do, at any point in the process, was invoke Executive Privilege. Something he never did.

Good luck with your new nonsense.

It's even worse than the nonsense of Trump and Putin sitting in the Star Chamber.

They aren't unnamed. Their names appear on the online letter.

Their "opinions" are based on precedent. They..........and Mueller...........show your opinion to be baloney.

He fired Comey for refusing to end an investigation into Flynn, who was convicted on the charges of being an illegal Russian agent, and lying to federal authorities. That constitutes malicious intent to impede a federal investigation.

Good luck with the Comey defense, since everyone was calling for him to be fired for many reasons.

No, Flynn was not convicted on charges of "being an illegal Russian agent". I mean seriously. Read something.

He plead guity to violations of the Foreign Agent Registration Act, which requires any American working for a foreign government to be registered as a foreign agent. Flynn continued working for Russia even after being hired as Trump's National Security Adviser, and lied to the FBI and State Department, claiming to have no connections to the Russian government. He ended his registration as a foreign agent when he was hired by Trump, but continued to illegally work under the table for Russia, Turkey, and other countries for several months despite no longer being legally permitted to. He was charged with lying to federal authorities and illegally working as an unregistered foreign agent.

Uh no, he's accused of not registering with FARA on behalf of Turkey, not Russia.

Flynn is going to be the best boomerang in leftist faces yet, imho.
