You highlighted part of the problem with weapon (and equipment) development that I saw when I worked for Northrop Corporation. The contractors are more concerned with making a buck, and even with satisfying internal company politics, than in taking care of our guys. The Pentagon sometimes got it right ... they bought the YA-10 over the Northrop YA-9.

    Fairchild Republic A-10

The engines on the A-9 were located in the fuselage and would have been more likely to result in the loss of the aircraft if hit by a missile. (At low altitude, loss of aircraft = dead pilot.) There was also the problem of sucking crap into the low-mounted A-9 engines. Northrop was determined to push the A-9 design even after the Pentagon said they didn't like it.
I got the idea about Generals when just after my uncle got his star the family got a guided tour through Disneyland. I was just a kid, but the message about Generals was unmistakable.

Barr has already lost the political middle and Trump has to have most of them to win reelection.

Barr isn't running for election, he doesn't need the "political middle". I'd be concerned if the Attorney General governed his conduct by what was most acceptable to "the political middle" (or any other specific constituency), would prefer he focus on upholding the law as objectively as possible regardless of ideology.

Barr represents Trump, so the Orange Oaf will be taken to task by voters over what Barr does.

And your beautiful graphs from Liberal publication supposed to prove what? That I’m wrong and suppose to abandon Trump? Right away! :salute:

Like I said, Trump is about as popular as ants at a picnic.

Why would I care if you support or abandon the Orange Oaf?

This unpopular (as your graphs undoubtedly prove) president is about to be re-elected. How do you figure?

I would say winners over supporters. If winning is gullible, count me in.

All that campaign gibberish he upset Democrats with, never bothered me. Even now he is not bothering me. Funny to see the media all bothered.

I can tell quite a bit about those airplanes looking at the wings and rudder designs. And as you say, the high mounted engines definitely would save a few more lives.

There is a hell of a video showing a fighter losing the forward part of the fuselage and coming down in two pieces. I will see if I can find it.

I told people the difference in the Col rank to the General rank based on my personal observation in the Army at the time I was in.

I saw the limousines used by the Generals vs the Chevrolet 4 dr sedans. I saw in German a Col commands perhaps 2000 troops vs a General commanding 20,000 or more. The Generals lived in very large homes, some bases gave them mansions. Col lived in 1 story house or apartment. I am not trying to diminish a Col at all. But the military makes enormous differences for the General.

In Germany then 7th Army CG Truman (not related to the president) had his own train. I went to his Huey Helicopter to look inside and it had plush upholstery inside for him. When he took off, a number of other Generals were flying above him as if in cover of some kind. He was then a 3 star.

Also on the Humvee, a lot of Americans not understanding that vehicle thought it should come standard as a heavy armor vehicle. But it was about the same thing as what we had in Germany called the Jeep. A light mobile vehicle to carry several people. When I got to Germany my first duty was to drive a Jeep. Fact is i drove the Commanding Officer. A Captain Ricard. I never heard all the whining over the jeep armor as I later heard about the Humvee. A buddy of mine bought one that I got a ride in one time.

I don't know where you're getting that from. It just looks like an empty smear job.
