I think you are conflating policies with morality. Any of the other 2016 GOP candidates for president [Rubio/ Kasich/ Cruz, etc] could have very well followed the same politics that Trump did [ie. tax break] though probably would have been quite different on international policies [ie. Trump's attacks on allies/ NATO]. I even look forward to Pence taking over once Trump is impeached. Because all these other Republicans don't generally lie; they also don't attack fellow Americans [both Democrats & Republicans], they are likely not racists either. Trump is totally contaminated, has no credibility and is viewed as close to an enemy of America as any foreign dictator. Republicans are culpable until they denounce Trump, quite simply.

That the nation wishes Trump would go away [maybe to prison] will come to fruition. Nixon did far less and was head and shoulders above Trump yet he was forced out. Republicans participated in Nixon's departure and he was shunned by the GOP forever afterwards.

Nixon proudly established the EPA; Trump has crippled it. The difference in old time Republicans and today's GOP is like night and day.
