    it's not about the violence
    it's not about the drugs
    it's just about
    about the love
    love for the music
    love for the bass
there's no need for all this
    badness in the place...

Brixton, in Lambeth... The town over from Croydon along the A23 before Westminster
Brixton, my neck of the woods...

    They started their own local currency;
put David Bowie on the B£10 note because he was born in Brixton.

    This is Brixton;

    Home of The Clash
    I once saw this nice guitar, a Travis Bean;
    Caught my attention in Soho.
    10208299764842366.jpg
... It's no longer there, I asked how much it was, and he said £8, 000.00 I was like
'Figures' (Because it's a Travis Bean)...
    I'm going to paraphrase what he said next as, I don't know The Clash well enough to know the members names..;
'It belonged to the guitarist (or Bassist) from The Clash' I forget who he said he was in The Clash, but that Travis Bean was his and that added to the price.
It's a nice guitar, and I'm glad I got see it for as long as I did for it being a Travis Bean (that's what that guitar is called, it's a Travis Bean) caught my eye right away in the their display.

    I digress, Brixton..

This was shot in Brixton, so, whatever; Look at my country.

    Remember Barbara
It rained all day on Brest that day
    And you walked smiling
    Flushed enraptured streaming-wet
    In the rain
    Remember Barbara
It rained all day on Brest that day
And I ran into you in Siam Street
    You were smiling
    And I smiled too
    Remember Barbara
    You whom I didn't know
    You who didn't know me
    Remember
    Remember that day still
    Don't forget
A man was taking cover on a porch
    And he cried your name
    Barbara
And you ran to him in the rain
    Streaming-wet enraptured flushed
And you threw yourself in his arms
    Remember that Barbara
And don't be mad if I speak familiarly
I speak familiarly to everyone I love
Even if I've seen them only once
I speak familiarly to all who are in love
Even if I don't know them
    Remember Barbara
    Don't forget
    That good and happy rain
    On your happy face
    On that happy town
    That rain upon the sea
    Upon the arsenal
    Upon the Ushant boat
    Oh Barbara
    What shitstupidity the war
    Now what's become of you
    Under this iron rain
Of fire and steel and blood
And he who held you in his arms
    Amorously
Is he dead and gone or still so much alive
    Oh Barbara
It's rained all day on Brest today
    As it was raining before
But it isn't the same anymore
    And everything is wrecked
It's a rain of mourning terrible and desolate
Nor is it still a storm
Of iron and steel and blood
    But simply clouds
    That die like dogs
    Dogs that disappear
    In the downpour drowning Brest
    And float away to rot
    A long way off
A long long way from Brest
    Of which there's nothing left.

When Desmond Dekker got famous, he moved to Thornton Heath and lived 10 minutes away from me in Thornton Heath Pond; and some local musicians (older than myself) knew him personally and he was quite local in Thornton Heath.

This guy came from Gypsy Hill, used to see him shopping around Sainsbury's as well as the actor who played Claudius from I, Claudius..

I once heard this song in a shop in America...

    I don't own silver and I don't own gold
    Nothing you can have
What I own is right infront of your eyes
My hands are empty, but my heart is full
    Of something you can't see
So I have something worth even more

If you lose your hope and fall down
You can stay right here with me
Like a rock to lean on in the storm
    I'll never leave you

I'll follow you through fire and water
    Over land and sea
I'll love you til my hear stops
From the tallest mountain and deepest valley, I will walk
Through time and space, to you I give all my days

And when the winds are blowing
    I will dance with you
If the sun is burning I will cool you down

If you lose your hope and fall down
You can stay right here with me
Like a rock to lean on in the storm
    I'll never leave you

I'll follow you through fire and water
    Over land and sea
I'll love you til my hear stops
From the tallest mountain and deepest valley, I will walk
Through time and space, to you I give all my days

It's difficult to define the musical genre of this group :) They themselves call it "a heavy psychedelic twist". Attributes correspond to Soviet official stylistics, sounding to the Soviet musical groups of the 1970s. In the people, the work of this group was jokingly called "party rock". In the sense of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union :)

The text of this song is primitive. Multiple republishing of the phrase "I told you so! And you did not listen to me. And it happened, as I told you"

I'm still immensely proud of these guys coming from Soho.

This song was recorded on Dean St. I'm on Greek St.

    This...

My father once told me when I was listening to this
'I was mates with her Dad!'..

So me and this woman here can say our fathers knew each other; This song came out in the 1960s, I was born in 1986.

This is my Great Aunt who died in America way before I was born.

She and Noel Coward used to visit my father and his family in WWII London (his mother/my grandmother was her niece).
