50 million armed people don't present a significant defensive deterrent? The nothing does. Besides the deterrent is it really for foreign powers it's for domestic powers. I don't think there's the slightest bit of merit to anything you're saying here. If a foreign body were to invade the US they would have their work cut out for them because we have more armed people here then they have likely people in their country.

No it actually causes people to fall into addiction desperation it causes crime. Look at all the communities in the US where the majority of the people in them are welfare recipients. When you have nothing to work for you have no purpose to life. Therefore you get board start taking drugs and shooting people.
