50 million armed people don't present a significant defensive deterrent? The nothing does.

Besides the deterrent is it really for foreign powers it's for domestic powers.
I don't think there's the slightest bit of merit to anything you're saying here. If a foreign body were to invade the US they would have their work cut out for them because we have more armed people here then they have likely people in their country.

I do not know. 572,000 lives lost in USA 1999-2016 to all firearms is more then enough.

Probably much fewer. For every justifiable homicide, there are 30 criminal homicides and 50 suicides.

no it would probably be much greater because making guns illegal only ensures that criminals have them I need nobody else.
so in your mind the only ways to use a gun to save someone's life is to slay somebody?

sometimes guns stop crimes. Sometimes those who try to use guns in self-defense escalate the situation and suffer worse.

But mostly guns are used for murder and suicide.

so understanding this taking them away will eliminate that sometimes. The number of death would increase.

if they were defenseless they would just add to your statistic.

I would rather people have a fighting chance and just to be a lamp to your slaughter.

This is false there are more guns in this country than there are people if they were all used once in the murder and suicide the entire population of the United States would be dead.

99.9% of gun use results in no crime. Carrying a gun for self-defense is using it.

Most gun use is for hunting. This is an exciting game for some people. But availability of guns costs hundreds of thousands of lives.

no most gun use is for home and self-defense. It's estimated from anywhere between 300 million to 500 million guns are owned in the United States. If they were only used for hunting than there would be no animals. Besides many guns are pistols.
Banning gun ownership would cost tens of millions.

No. The best protection for all humans is a generous Welfare System. Sadly, rich taxpayers in USA disagree.

Welfare stops people from falling into addiction and desperation. It stops crime.

No it actually causes people to fall into addiction desperation it causes crime. Look at all the communities in the US where the majority of the people in them are welfare recipients.

When you have nothing to work for you have no purpose to life. Therefore you get board start taking drugs and shooting people.
