A man was kneeling in prayer before the statue of the revered Madonna, with the photograph of a loved one in hand, in the small chapel of St. Barnabas in Perugia (Italy), when he was attacked by five “immigrants.”

The first thing they did was rip the photo from his hands.

Next they unleashed their hatred against the image of the Virgin Mary. They broke the statue to pieces and then urinated on it.

Don Scarda, pastor of St. Barnabas, said the event was led by five “foreigners.” By the time police arrived at the chapel, the unidentified attackers had already fled.

The incident has caused a stir among locals. Some have lambasted Pope Francis who is accused of appeasing immigrants—mostly Muslims—to wild extremes. Earlier he had said that “Migrants, through their own humanity, cultural values, expand the sense of human brotherhood.”

Although the Diocese condemned the act of sacrilege against the Madonna statue, it also followed the Pope’s lead by absolving Islam of any responsibility for what happened.

The immigrants kicked pieces of the statue down the street.

The fallout from the hoax is that the story is being used to portray Pope Francis as even more willing to excuse the excesses of violent Islamists than he actually is. That, in turn, is generating actual outrage and hatred directed at the Pontiff, all on account of words that he’s not really said about an event that never really happened. He is already under attack for real statements he’s made about the recent French massacre that seem far too critical of those who insult religion and not critical enough of those who murder cartoonists.

This is what I can't understand. I know Muslims revere the Virgin Mary, unless some Muslims are adamantly against the portrayal of any religious figure. It could be a ruse in order to arouse people against Muslims. Now in the US, more than likely it would have been satanists...or maybe atheists.

See how you're been brainwashed. What you should have said is, would the Protestants in Britain have done it? Yes, definitely yes!

As for fanaticism, there is something in Christianity called; 'prelest'...which is a form of possession. It happens when people place too much on the rudiments of the faith rather than in the heart and spirit of Christianity. So if you go to Russia and enter a church, watch out for that babushka with the cane in her hand.

 

I think we should separate Islam as a political movement, from the individual Muslims who really do want a better life. After all wouldn't we would want others to separate our governments policies of backing terrorists and the genocide they perpetuate in the Middle East, from the American people.

The problem is that these Muslim immigrants are being manipulated and deceived by leaders, whose political/religious ambitions supersede any concern towards the welfare of their own people. The human traffickers are supported by their respective governments, and what the migrants suffer is considered their 'fate' in life.

To allow so many Muslims into Europe was a mistake, and they have to figure out a humane way of handling it...but in order to do that, they need to cooperate with the moderate Imams. It doesn't help them when the Muslims are badly treated in Europe.

 

They Love Christianity so much its illegal in many Muslim countries to build a new church...
