Muslim scholar denied soda on airplane

Maybe it was given unopened to the guy next to her because he looked like a normal decent person capable of opening a can of soda all by himself, and the FA wouldn't trust a muslim with a plastic spork?

Considering the news coming out of the middle east and the daesh running around doing everything they possibly can to stir up hatred against muslims, this woman needs to get her head screwed on straight and understand that the world has a very good reason to be wary of her and her kind.

hey when I was a kid working at cumberland farms they used to offload the soda and leave it by the back door until it could get loaded into the store and dogs would come by and urinate on the cans. I always wipe the cans even with my shirt if I have to so the hygiene is a legit concern. The question is did they really serve unopened cans to other passengers? Ive always thought they had to open the can because even if you ask them not to pour it they open it and put the cup over the top before handing it to you. Have any of the stories that they serverld unopened to other passengers been confirmed yet?

 

Does it matter? Maybe it was just this one FA, and she doesn't like muslims. She might have known some of the cabin crew and pilots that died on 911, and just doesn't trust them any more.

Want to get her fired over that? Or perhaps you are looking for some guideline for FAs on this particular carrier that says if you notice a muslim, don't give them an unopened beverage?

You're probably not going to find that on any written guidelines, so what exactly are you looking for?

Yes if they did do it then the problem is even worse than that, if they thought she was a terrorist then how did she get on the aircraft?

Anyway, in Europe we are always given an unopened can if we want one. It is nothing to do with fear. Chances are more likely due to the litigation risks that seem to be a way of life in the US. God forbid, if the can is opened by a passenger and they get soaked by the spray - "quick get me a lawyer, I think I'm going blind"

I doubt if the story is entirely true anyway.

Well, a full can of liquid can actually hurt a person pretty good. I had a cousin that was put in the hospital for a week because somebody drove by really fast and threw a filled beer bottle at her. Struck her square in the side of the head.

With that being said, I'm going to support the Muslim. that was an utterly ridiculous reactions and quite possibly a real case of Islamaphobia. And I'm one to loathe using that word, and I loathe it emphatically and behementally because of how liberals misuse it. But There is a fair amount of real bigotry against Muslims in this countries, spearheaded by Christians. If there wasn't, then Mosques wouldn't be vandalized or burnt down like they are in America.

Personally, I hope she wins and gets a few million dollars out that nonsense.

But of course the bigots will cry out against this and support the attendant.
