Their official statement, which you chose not to link to, only states they apologized... and tried to understand her version of what happened.

After attempting "several times to accommodate" her.

    She seems high maintenance.

    Here ya go...

You don't know if United believes her.
Seems few others do.... even here.

You can try asking a travel agent to only book you on flights that serve unopened cans of soda, if you want. The only one I explicitly remember was on a KAL flight. I was drinking free beer and didn't want to bother the FAs every 20 minutes.

But I think you are more concerned with looking for a reason to be outraged, rather than any strange religious custom that involves opening up your own can of pop.

Those are the airlines i use most frequently. And at least every other flight i'll ask for a full can of beer or soda and never have been told no.

You can believe it or not, don't much care.

Unopened can, and never told no. You must be white.

Enough to try and justify the claim... at least.

Muslim terrorists aren't committing many attacks in the US because our government is focusing all homeland security resources to keep them OUT of the country.

If we stopped doing that, then your friends will come back.

The difference is, I can tell some of the time when it's real bigotry and not a word that is being misused in dishonest ways to shut down discussion. Such as when pointing out a glaring double standard. In that way, it is also lazy thinking.

The irony is, when some people are using it in a dishonest way, such as calling any criticism, whether valid or not, bigotry, to shut it down, is also a form of bigotry in and of itself. There are man different forms of bigotry, and some of it is very clear cut, others are most definately gray.

In this specific case against the Muslim, I believe it is real bigotry. I also get real tired of bigots who consistently say things like since some blacks/members are bad people, then all must be bad people so we must constantly watch them and get rid of them all.

And remember, i am not personally attacking you. You did flat out say that calling people a bigot in not an insult. All I am doing is holding you to the same standards you demand of everybody else.

I hate double standards to no end, no matter what the group. If bigotry is not okay, then calling someone a bigot or insulting them or berating them to no end to correct them, is also bigotry.

You see, it is not the specific wording that I look at. It is the action that I see more than the words. To me, the only real way to take the moral high road is to not be like the person you are criticizing. To me, criticizing someone, then turning around and doing the very same thing the other person, with using a different justification, doesn't really cut it. It is the same action, so that makes you the same as the person and I can not see any appreciable difference.

However, I am not blind to the complications and contradictions it creates for me, and i really don't like doing this. But when people are so locked into their partisan activity, they will not listen to any sort of reasonable or level headed discussion. You can only either use dirty rotten tactics of your own, or just put them on ignore.

So you see, I do not support bigotry and racism. I try to keep it only when I think it is something that is real and will not use it in a partisan and a dishonest manner.

And in this case, not allowing the Muslim to have a soda because she might use it as a bomb, well, come on man. That's a pretty glaring thing.

By the airline? Probably not. Legally? Of course it's allowed.

It's rather obvious that when you refuse to distinguish between 1 muslim and the next, that you're just the type of person to refuse to distingush between 1 jew and the next. It's the same thing.

Last I checked, the jews aren't running around killing people who aren't jewish. But I promise, when there is a large population of guys beheading anybody who isn't wearing a kipa, I'll be just as concerned about jews as I am about muslims.
