Anyone know about Cats having Kittens? I have a young female Siamese that I rescued. Unfortunately my sons cat got to her. I have never dealt with this before. Nor have had to deal with the experience.

My lil one is young and this is her first litter. She broke water laying on the couch next to me. Then she gave birth to one so far. But she wont go by it. It still has the placenta attached to it. The baby is crying and so is my baby.

    Anyone go thru this before?

Am I suppose to clean my lil one up from the birth. She still has blood around her tail. She still wont go by her kitten no matter how loud it cries. She wants to stay by me and not her kitten.

    Kittens make good snake food.

Oh my gosh. Find an active cat forum and pose the question. You should get bunches of responses from cat lovers. I was a child when our cat had kittens and I seem to remember the mother tending to them. But if she's in labor still that might come later.

There may be more kittens. Cats usually know what to do as far as all the other stuff. Just leave it be is my suggestion.

Thanks.....I have to take her in. Its been over a half hour since she had the first one. She could have more. But if she don't have one in an hour, or hour 30 minutes. Then there is a problem. Plus they will have to get her to nurse this one.

    Thanks again.

Well.....so far we have only the one kitten that she gave birth to. The Vet took an X Ray she still has 4 more to go. But she did not have anymore last night. Said it could be a day, two, or three. Its all in the norm.

To top it off, my lil one doesn't have a lot of milk in her teats so now they gave me some kitty formula and I have to try and feed this little itty bitty thing. Which going thru the first feeding with the eyedropper was rough.

Otherwise I managed to make it thru the night and work.....on only 2 and half hrs of sleep.

I had to take her back in and they had to give her an injection to try induce her. I have to around 1130 if she don't have the babies I have to take her in for a C-Section. Which then she will also be fixed.

We wont be keeping any of the kittens. I already have 3 rescue Cats and a Dog. I just rescued the Siamese about a year ago. She was around 12 weeks then. We have it set up to go to a Rescue place/Shelter. They will deworm and take it from there.

She wasn't suppose to get preggers. Then my son brought his make cat here and then he accidently got out of his room.

Good news she just had another kitten. [IMG] So they want me to wait a couple more hours. Then if she doesn't have the other 3. They will induce her again. Which basically they are saying I have this day. Otherwise real late nite tonight I will have to take her then for the C Section.

WARNING! I rescued a one-day old kitten and learned that they can't poop or pee without help. The vet said the momma cat licks their butt and I told him I was drawing the line there. A warm, wet washcloth did the job. The kitten lived with us for about 8 years.

It's not unusual for the first litter to be confusing to dogs and cats...and humans. We were home when our dog had her first litter and she ate one of them. The others were fine.
