What's even more amazing about the DOE is they consume more than half the states tax revenue. And they are so huge they can't even account where the money goes or where they spend it. This kind of behavior is not tolerated in small business or corporations, even corporations can cook the books to at least look legit.
Student loans are just a trap for poor people who think they are rich. Most of the loans these kids take out are at high interest, and the crazy part is, 100% of all those who take out student loans will be in debt when they graduate (if they graduate in 4 years). Some will be in even more debt when they go on to graduate school and pay massive bucks for the 2-4 years. All in all, they will be in over their heads at least $50K, and will need a job fast. But with the USA not growing, and being oversaturated with professionals, the likely hood these low acheivers will gain immediate employment is nill. At best the scholorship graduates will be picked up first, and they will have little to no debt. And as the world get more interconnected, more and more forigen graduates will secure top billing at the major corporations and industies. Hence the meger achievement of the USA student is average at best when compaired to forigen brain. So my proposal for student loan is to have none at all. It is not needed, people work and pay their own way through grad school without a loan. If they can do it, anyone can. A significant amount of boweres do not pay back and a lot go bankrupt, What a way to start out real life. In debt, and broke, no money no honey, no future. Some may argue, that to be a doctor you need to complete a degree by bla bla bla. Fact is if you don't think you can do it, don't. because the world is not going to care, as there are others willing to make the sacrifices and do whatever it takes to acheive their goals. Only whining lazy fools complain about how the odds are against them, and how others have it easy. So what, if you don't have the ability to figure out ways to do what is needed to acheive your goals, someone else will. The world does not stop to give pitty and opportunity. People need to make their opportunity, and make it happen.
