    Son of a bitch.

I come from a long line of iron livers, and it literally took my father 12 years of 3 handles of cheap Scotch a day to kill himself. While my sober self is well versed in the English language, he's also a raging ******* completely devoid of any semblance of human empathy or compassion.

So if I'm posting I can guarantee you I'm blasted(for your benefit), but that don't mean my corners ain't square or my floors aren't level.

That sounds a little depressing, that bit about the Scotch.

Anyone remember the old Acme Pet site and the forums there?

That was the first place I posted in the 90s.

    Nice guy.

Of course if you are of advanced years, the dems then were like reps now.

Aren't Democrats and Communists the same thing?

They both hate the working man, think they know what's in his best interest, and want to destroy the middle class.

Not all Democrats are like that. Most join this party or that because they want the gig, which with all its benefits, is pretty sweet.

Which is why we need term limits.

Term limits won't change anything by themselves. What we need is a return to republican governance, based on real representation. Do you know what's the difference between a Congressman in 1929 and today? About 500,000 constituents. Smaller districts means less money and more accountability.

If you read the history of the USA from the turn of the 19th to 20th century to the post WWII era you will be that Democrats were the ones who made the conditions for there to be a middle class. This happened in two eras and forty reasons. One the advent of unions from 1900 to 1950's forced industry to provide a stable working wage. THat provided for the working class to be able to buy and own their own homes. That stimulated the economy because when the working schlump was able to buy a house he bought house hold items. Actually that was his wife who did that. The economy was stimulated and there was brought and more jobs.

The Democrats were the champions of the GI Bill of Rights at the end of WWII. Not only did that promote home ownership by the returning GI's but the GI education Bill enabled the sons of common workers to go to college and become more productive and higher paid. I am sad to say that one of our illustrious Senators who happened to be Republicans opposed the GI Bill and only voted for it reluctantly after being shamed into it. They made statements that the sons of working schmuckos would squander the education and would be sloths of the system. These are the same senators who were so happy that the average son of the factory workers and common laborers went off to fight on two fronts and save this country and saved the world from NAZISM and Japanese Imperialism. So they were good enough to die for their country but not good enough to be educated and make this country great.

SPEAKING OF MAKING THIS COUNTRY GREAT it was the working class stiffs whose children became middle class in the 1940- 1960's and to some degree into th 70's until Nixon ruined this country, that made this country great. It was not lying Didos who lied about building the wall and making Mexico pay for it.

That is why I was once a DEMOCRAT !!

To cure the cycle of Congressional corruption you need to go away with gerry wandered districts. YES SMALLER would be better. Of course that would necessitate more Congressmen.

We all know that all Democratic accomplishments prior to Nixon were actually done by Republicans-liberals have made sure to wash their hands of the labor movement and ending the Great Depression.

But until 1929, every ten years Congressmen were added to ensure republicanism amply represented the American public. Leave it to Social Democrats like Bernie to **** that **** up and march us straight to fascism.

Triple the size of the House. It is the only path forward to better government.

Don't see why we can't get there. Hardwired, closed system, paper ballots for confirmation.

    Ah, another ignore.

Get a grip. Your views are delusional. Turn off Fox or Limbaugh or whatever nonsense you've been allowing to warp your views of reality.

I'm Independent but righties are a lost cause.

Same here. Let's not leave out the restriction on immigration imposed in the early 1920's contributing to some of the middle class prosperity as well.
