Your posting history irrevocably stereotypes you as a generic fiscal conservative opposed to government "entitlement" programs. In other words, you RESENT your tax dollars being used to subsidize the deficits of others. . . . Hence, you sarcastically ask: "Where's MY stuff?"

"Do you mind if I smoke?"
"No. Do you mind if I fart?"

So breathing smoke into the faces of babies is okay? It's a personal choice to smoke, drink and do drugs, but giving it to kids or doing it in a way that harms or hassles others is wrong.

    https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/secondhand_smoke/general_facts/index.htm
Secondhand smoke harms children and adults, and the only way to fully protect nonsmokers is to eliminate smoking in all homes, worksites, and public places.1,2,3

You can take steps to protect yourself and your family from secondhand smoke, such as making your home and vehicles smokefree.2,3

Separating smokers from nonsmokers, opening windows, or using air filters does not prevent people from breathing secondhand smoke.1,2,3

Most exposure to secondhand smoke occurs in homes and workplaces.2,3

People are also exposed to secondhand smoke in public places—such as in restaurants, bars, and casinos—as well as in cars and other vehicles.2,3

People with lower income and lower education are less likely to be covered by smokefree laws in worksites, restaurants, and bars.4

The CDC is way more credible when it comes to proving the harm of 2nd hand smoke!

Second hand smoke causes no harm, but it does hassle and annoy, which is why I never smoke in the presence of others unless they too are smoking.

I was usually impressed with the CDCs work. But for some strange reason they went way over the top with second hand smoke. Their estimates of deaths are magnitudes greater than any non-scientific study or zealot has ever claimed, which varies from one to maybe hundreds of deaths. So I now put them in the same class of the EPA which was found guilty in a federal court of illegally manipulating their first (IIRC) 2nd-hand smoke study. If in the private sector the CDC could be known as the CPA of mortality and disease. If that were true they would be legally put out of business (the equivalent of being disbarred) and likely in prison for their accounting of second hand smoke mortality.

How so? I did not mean to give that impression. I thought the statement was fairly clear...

Don't know but when you die you should leave whatever stuff you do have to a BLM family if you want to get into heaven.

How are you discriminated against specifically (note that anti-smoking campaigns aren’t discrimination, they’re targeted at actions, not people)? What “stuff” does your group need that it doesn’t already have access to?

I am CHALLENGING your statement on the basis of your rigid commitment to conservative values and previously expressed beliefs.

Rigid commitment to conservative values? Previously expressed beliefs? You want to state what those objectionable values and beliefs are? Or is it enough for you to state that my thinking is off, given that you're the only one able to think it out?

We already have. It's called Medicare. Unless your plans don't include getting to 65

I am on Medicare and am the only one who has paid for my services, so far, with my almost 50 years of paying medicare tax -- almost all at the maximum level -- and my medicare premiums, deductible, co-pays, and coinsurance. I repeat, as a long time smoker, nobody besides me has paid one dollar toward my medical care -- all the way through 9-26-17. I know this does not fit the agenda, the hype, and the spin; too damn bad.

Get your free cell phone, your personal mobility scooter, stair lift, walk in whirlpool tub, power lift recliner, and adjustable bed. Make sure you get everything that you're entitled to.

Thanks, but Medicare won't even cover my prescribed compression sock!! (Though overall Medicare is not bad other than paying doctors slave wages.)

I might have been trying to get a rise out the libs ... :;): They all love socialized medicine until it benefits conservatives.

Right after your reply, you posted this:
And if the GOP starts running populist candidates that are fiscally conservative, the Dems will be having some very serious problems in the near term. That's my view, anyway.

    And previously:

The Graham-Cassidy proposal appears to be a very good solution. In addition to getting rid of Obamacare, it promotes a federalist solution to the healthcare problem. For my thinking, a win-win.

I look at seatbelt and helmet laws as getting in the way of natural selection. Ditto for labels on a hair dryer telling you to not use it in the bathtub.
