One of the things that America did was put into law the fact that you can't be charged for the crimes of your father...no longer could you be sold into indentured servitude for your father's debts for example.

We look at the feuds like the Hatfields and McCoys and shake our heads at the idiocy of killing people over something that happened to their great grandfather..

I think some Blacks believe that Americans invented slavery...we did not. Slavery has gone on since the dawn of time, it continues today but is Jesse or Al concerned? well no, because there's no money to be made there. That and the fact that it is often Africans enslaving other Africans so it's 'ok'. Just as Blacks in America killing other Blacks is 'ok'.

The simple fact is that no white person living today is responsible for the slavery of any African of the preCivil War era. No African American living today has a right to be mad at any white person living today because of an injustice that happened three hundred years ago.

We do NOT convict grandchildren for crimes their great grandparents may have committed (not all whites engaged in slavery)

it is that mentality that gets a lot of young Black men killed, it is that mentality that gets young Blacks incarcerated. Instead of whining about things that happened hundreds of years ago, focus on today. No one can change history.

And another thing, this dramatic hyperbole is contributing to the problem NOT helping it. Whites never got more than sixty miles into Africa until the twentieth century. It was a COMMON (still is) practice for Africans to take slaves and sell them in far places to consolidate power or take over an area...it was Africans that shackled their countrymen, dragged them to the coast and sold them to the White man..they knew those slaves would never come back...that was the POINT.

Read some early writings of freed slaves and their descendents...not the edited, rewritten histories, find an early edition...they did not preach hate and if they didn't, what right do you?

The "slavery" shtick is just another handy excuse used to justify attempts to obtain special immunity from being a responsible human being. It's commonly flashed about like a magical free pass, supposedly allowing its bearer to behave like a dick without having to be bothered by criticism or accountability. Slavery was brought to west africa by europeans, slavery is a european invention and you have provided no evidence that it was in Africa before colonialism. Your attempt to relieve europeans of all the blame has failed, again.
