That is a novel interpretation not shared by anyone else on planet earth, and completely out of keeping with the remainder of Jesus's life, teachings, and example. None of Jesus's disciples picked up on it, either, not Peter, Paul, or John. Fail.

Sigh your opinion once again can not hold a train of thought for even a single rebuttal. Where did I state you made a WW2 reference? What you stated was " for further reference see American gun culture and mass shootings" Why throw that in so cavalierly off topic mind you at the end of a comment on Myanmar? Leftist opinions do such brainwashing things constantly. Only works on yourselves.

Your opinion is that we Americans should do something about Myanmar. Blanket sanctions? Cut them off from the Olympics? Some kind of rubbish like that. What is your country doing to stop it?

America will not intervene directly or indirectly thank goodness. It's not our business. The only people that suffer from Sanctions are the people of countries we impose them on not the governments derp. Talk about nonsense..

Once again yes I am ok with what the Myanmar people are doing to protect their culture. They don't want to be an Islamic culture so they are telling them to leave. Expect more of this. I am actually a very kind and thoughtful person but I am over all of this double standard Muslim hand holding. Whether it be in Myanmar, Europe, Palestine.. Why are they so special? Millions of Africans have been murdered, butchered, maimed, intentionally starved to death by alternate sects / religions and I don't see much.. Any leftist outrage.

    Hypocrisy

Will pro Arab / Muslim / DBS supporters over here go out and demonstrate against the ethnic cleansing in Myanmar ???
    I don't think so.
Only if those poor victims change their names to Palestinian Bedouins...

What do you, as a Buddhist, think of this kind of protest?

We don't belong to the same teaching. Because every life is sacred for the teaching of the sutra of lotus, you have no reasons either to harm your own life, to let people harm your life or harm the life of other people.

I'm very far to be a buddha, I "pray" to not let my hatred overwhelm me.
(the quotation mark is because I don't pray a god or the buddha, but I pray to awaken the most noble state of life present in my life and every life).

The most respectfull solution for the life of non muslims and muslims is for both to live apart. Considering what says the Quran, what happened in many muslim countries and the situation of freedom of religion in many muslim countries, I'm extremly pessimistic about the possibility for islam to coexist with anything than itself (and still, Shia and Sunni muslims that even between muslims, they're unable to not kill themselves).

About Burma, what happens about Buddhism seems to be a shame. Some monks are millionaire and they seems to abuse of their authority. They seems to be in full "mappo", when buddhist forgot the true sense of the buddha teaching, the essence of the buddhic law forgotten and nobody is able to reach illumination.

This is drivel. It's a nice ignorant fantasy about Buddhism. Chinese Buddhists that I have personally met are shocking in their genocidal thinking. Many simply think that to be a muslim is to be worthy only of death. This is the ideology of many Buddhist monks in Burma. The quote in the post above this one (with its grunting feudal nom de guerre) reveals this evil thinking, together with the deceitful clothing that it wears to sport the lie that there is love at the heart of such beliefs. They support complete extermination of muslims and are as hate filled as American nationalists... actually they are even worse. These people can truly be compared to Nazis, these East Asian Buddhists whose fanaticism justifies genocidal murder on a mass scale.

Look at the pure filth posted on this thread, that calls for the killing of children because "they grow up to be muslims". This is even more brazen than Nazi ideology, where speech like this was only made in secret, in shame, and in cowardice. The scum that now campaign openly for genocide in the West and in Burma's Buddhist communities, now even lack the shame of such Nazis. Is this bravery? Of course not. The filthy, vulgar mob of dehumanised human detritus that spouts this evil, is only encouraged by the widespread acceptance of their barbarism by the brutish, philistine animalistic herd that drag us to the edge of the mountainside.

Killing is against everyone's religion, should you care to find the scriptural texts. And yet, as with those atheist religionists, communists and fascists, they wallow in blood, whether Catholic, presbyterian, islamic, jewish, Sikh, hindu, or whatever. Every single one of these groups have genocidal massacres to their name, justified by their filthy "faith". And they too have beautiful scripture to justify that too.

People, in every culture are wonderful and loving beings. They are also ugly, isolationist, chauvinists, who justify their ignorant dalliances with evil with grunts and hatred. The struggle is between those who always look for the sunny uplands and the increasing orcish mass of demonic forces, the world over, who foam at the mouth in their quest for blood and darkness.

    A truly evil post.

But today such evil is as common as American apple pie.

When we have seen the evidence of exactly such demonic ideology in places like Auschwitz and Maidenek, it makes such devilry so utterly satanic - even to an extent that the people who liberated these camps could not imagine. Now the banality (Reagan's "the face of evil in the modern world") of vice that we saw a few years ago is gone. The quaint twentieth century deceits that hid such malice behind a veneer of civilisation is now an anachronism. The United States of America now is the home to millions of grunting brutes who wear their hatred and barbarism openly on their sleeves, so much that the most ardent Nazi would blush at such vulgairty. Today Beelezebub's twenty first century warriors wear the old medieval clothes in today's terrible inferno. There is not the slightest pretence at any form of "civilisation" or "culture". It now without the slightest ambiguity "cries out to heaven for vengeance". The chasm between good and evil is even more clear that ever.

"Il faut se séparer des juifs en bloc et ne pas garder les petits"... just like Ceberus's post but with reference to a different group... so said Robert Brassilach a French quisling and collaborator who is now feted in a "Front National" France which votes one in three for Fascists. And yet France: quivering, cowardly, hypocritical, surrender monkey, bigoted, chauvinist, inward looking, lying Gaullist France.... is nothing when it comes to the abandonment of Enlightenment values by 40% of the American people. The United States, with some British and other European quislings, and feudal relics still powerful in the third world (like backyard, "Buddhist" Burma), are all now in lockstep in their pursuit and justification of the ultimate satanic goal.

The question is, how did it get to be like this? How did good, peaceful, loving Americans and good, peaceful, loving Buddhists turn into hard, callous people willing to kill or displace hundreds of thousands to over a billion people? Is it not an exhaustion of their patience, their kindness, their ability to turn the other cheek to (in America's case) decades or (in Asia's case) centuries of murder and repression by Muslims and Islam? Is there any similar sentiment among Americans or Buddhists to Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Baha'i, or Shintos? No, there isn't. Why? Because they aren't killing us at the direction of their holy book. They aren't blowing up women and children. They aren't slaughtering people in the name of their god. Muslims are. And people are tired of it. And things are going to have to get a hell of a lot worse in Europe before they get better, since the liberal elite have not yet learned their lesson.

p.s. Killing is not against Muslims' religion, it is an essential part of it. Mohammed told his followers whoever would not fight for Allah would have no place in heaven.

You must note the link and glue between Islam and Arabs .. because there are very few Muslim countries that do not follow and support terror , for example Azarbagan.
Islam rose from the Arab deserts .. and that's where it's main evil and violence.

I agree, however I am not fully sold on this story yet and it appears we may just be analyzing the "guy who hit second" which is very common. I think the initial over reaction (to put it VERY nicely) of taking out the villages was overkill. They should have just said "These people obviously do not want to be a part of our society and militarily attacked government troops", then moved them out.

Hopefully we get much more of a full picture as more and more nations send reporters to do individual journalism.

However, from what I have seen, heard and read the Muslim population has pretty much openly declared their intentions to spread and then supplant their Hindu government. This appears to have gone so far as to the recent and sudden attack from Muslims against Hindu bases without any provocation or warning. If this happened by a Mexican Sponsored group in New Mexico or Arizona can you imagine our response. Or better yet, if Muslims did this in China or Russia?

India is basically a Western Nation and has to live up to different standards and scrutiny, but if this was one of the two countries mentioned above we would have seen far worse retaliation.

So, saying that this is all this is true, I DO NOT support killing the Muslim minority off but I do greatly support paying to have them deported to neighboring Muslim countries.

The Muslim towns were harboring the soldiers/terrorists who attacked the military bases in a highly coordinated assault, some of the civilians HAD to know about it in advance. It is incredibly unfair to the Indian/Hindu soldiers who died and their families to expect nothing to happen in return. Do you think they should have just tried to gather up whoever they could prove did it and leave the rest of the towns "as is"? Have you been to that area of the world? While I haven't been there, I have been close and in those areas power rightfully rules. Even if the Muslims won that fight, the fights to come would be more and more and more bloody. Moving them seems like the only answer? Talk about "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"......

The Muslims there obviously do not want to be a part of that society as a whole, so much that they want to kill people to change it. With this in mind, I think going forward the best option is to create a safer living environment from both Muslim and Hindus alike. The one single only 100% thing we can rightfully prove now? That the two groups definitely both hate each other enough to kill.

If someone from White Power Groups or Antifa here in America does something, the entire group is rightfully held responsible. Why would this be any different?

A perfect example of this is the white power idiot who killed those people with his car, the backlash against "Neo-Nazi's" was at screaming level decibels around the country and rightfully so. Antifa people who have been caught being violent over and over again have now painted the whole group as violent bringing an overall negative outlook on them from the average American.

This is just how it works, if you do not speak up against the group you are a part of and the ideals they have, then you have to be considered to be a part of it when lives are at stake.

If not, like in this case, people die. Multiculturalism sounds great in theory, but it is only even POSSIBLE in a select few countries around the world. Hopefully one day we can reach that level of tolerance, but if you travel the world you know that day is not today.

Wake up and smell it, mate - Islam has declared the war to end all wars on us, not us with Islam? You might see my post as 'evil', but I see yours as dangerously, dangerously naive.

There are plenty of good arguments to be made, but I am really surprised that they continue with the "You are Racist, Islamist, etc" as it is one of the biggest reasons Trump has been elected. I actually think the over PC'ness is why the Left is getting slaughtered in election after election. Austria is crazy...

People are just so tired of these issues that all have the same connection.

No one disagrees Jesus said this. He was speaking the words of a king in a parable. If I read aloud the words of Harry Potter from a book, I am speaking the words. They are still Harry Potters words, not mine.

Something even more evil since it is considered the word of god by millions

[3.151] We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they set up with Allah that for which He has sent down no authority, and their abode is the fire, and evil is the abode of the unjust.

[2.191] And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers.(*)

[2.193] And fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah...(*)

2.216] Fighting is enjoined on you, and h is an object of dislike to you; and it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing while it is evil for you, and Allah knows, while you do not know.

[2.246] ...May it not be that you would not fight if fighting is ordained for you? They said: And what reason have we that we should not fight in the way of Allah, and we have indeed been compelled to abandon our homes and our children. But when fighting was ordained for them, they turned back, except a few of them, and Allah knows the unjust.

    [3.169] And reckon not those who are killed in Allah's way as dead; nay, they are alive (and) are provided sustenance from their Lord;

[4.74] Therefore let those fight in the way of Allah, who sell this world's life for the hereafter; and whoever fights in the way of Allah, then be he slain or be he victorious, We shall grant him a mighty reward.

[4.76] Those who believe fight in the way of Allah, and those who disbelieve fight in the way of the Shaitan. Fight therefore against the friends of the Shaitan; surely the strategy of the Shaitan is weak.

[9.5] So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

[9.29] Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.

[9.111] Surely Allah has bought of the believers their persons and their property for this, that they shall have the garden; they fight in Allah's way, so they slay and are slain;(*)

[9.123] O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness; and know that Allah is with those who guard (against evil).

[47.4] So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them

Why are many people quiet? Primarily because the suffering are not 'white', middle class-and-up, Christians/Jews.
Secondarily, they are not 'East Asians' from a well developed country in the Far East.

Many people are quiet because many people just don't give a ****.

Anyone who thinks humanity is SO evolved should think again.

The burning monk was a Pure Land Buddhist I believe. Isn't that Mahayana? Where as Burma is mostly Theravada?

It's Mahayana. But despite belonging to mahayana too, we have very different conceptions. It's may be a form of tibetan buddhism who is apart of both Mahayana and Therevada. I was in zen buddhism, then now I'm in nichiren buddhism. Both of the movement I were believed that you can reach "illumination" in that life, when the aime of pure land buddhist is to reborn in a better land. I'm personnaly still athee and don't believe in birth cycle. It's not the orthodoxy of zen or nichiren, but not contradictory.

To the point what should be done,... I gave that. And it's unlike the American way of just entering and shooting around, like the American gun culture / American mass shootings.

My opinion is that Americans do NOT enter that country to start shooting around, like them lot did in Iraq. Look what it did! Them nutcases created total anarchy so ISIL was able to form. Congrats on that one. Europe thanks the US for creating millions and millions of refugees coming their way.

Why not? We're doing it to Russia.

Those Muslims are the people of Myanmar.

    Ever read Zen at War?

Zen doesn't especially value human life. The Zen establishment supported the Japanese attacks in China while the Japanese were slaughtering the Chinese with abandon.

Buddhist are human not angel. You can have a teaching who says you that killing is a horror, they would still be people to kill.
I liked my years into zen buddhism and still attached to zen buddhism, however, I think they don't focus enough on the preciousness of human life. Zen is more a tradition about meditation and self perfection, they don't seek much more for joy but for serenity.

That's why I appreciate more in Nichiren buddhism.

Zen taught that killing is perfectly OK so long as it was done with mindfulness and detachment.

    I can't comment on Nichiren.

Show me a Zen teaching that says that. I think you're referring to a perversion of the teachings, not the teachings themselves.
