That goes to show conservatives don't know how to fight since the majority of them were conservatives. It's a shame.

Reagan is tame compared to any democrat, from the civil war till today.

Racism has its home in the democrat party.

Reference the woman who said she didn't want any black, hispanic, etc voices unless they voted democrat.

It really is a non stop display of hatred, extending back to the antebellum south.

Steve N making a disparaging remark about African-Americans. How unexpected.

Sick comparison especially one use the excuse of bone spurs to get away from fighting. Trump is a coward and only the legend in his own mind.

Your memory of history sucks. It was the Republicans that had to put Democrats in their place to end slavery. Lincoln was a Democrat. Democrats also wanted to make it illegal for blacks to own guns. They created the "Jim Crow Laws". You should brush up on your history.

In the mid-1870s, the insurgencies continued with a rise in more powerful white paramilitary groups, such as the White League, originating in Louisiana in 1874 after a disputed gubernatorial election; and the Red Shirts, originating in Mississippi in 1875 and developing numerous chapters in North and South Carolina; as well as other "White Line" rifle clubs. They operated openly, were more organized than the KKK, and directed their efforts at political goals: to disrupt Republican organizing, turn Republicans out of office, and intimidate or kill blacks to suppress black voting. They worked as "the military arm of the Democratic Party".[33] For instance, estimates were that 150 blacks were killed in North Carolina before the 1876 elections. Economic tactics such as eviction from rental housing or termination of employment were also used to suppress the black vote. White Democrats regained power in state legislatures across the South by the late 1870s, and the federal government withdrew its troops as a result of a national compromise related to the presidency, officially ending Reconstruction.

African Americans were a majority in three Southern states following the Civil War, and represented over 40% of the population in four other states. While they did not elect a majority of African Americans to office in any state legislature during Reconstruction, whites still feared and resented the political power exercised by freedmen.[34] After ousting the Republicans, whites worked to restore white supremacy.

Although elections were often surrounded by violence, blacks continued to vote and gained many local offices in the late 19th century. In the late 19th century, a Populist-Republican coalition in several states gained governorships and some congressional seats in 1894. To prevent such a coalition from forming again and reduce election violence, the Democratic Party, dominant in all southern state legislatures, took action to disfranchise most blacks and many poor whites outright.

From 1890 to 1908, ten of the eleven former Confederate states completed political suppression and exclusion of these groups by ratifying new constitutions or amendments which incorporated provisions to make voter registration more difficult. These included such requirements as payment of poll taxes, complicated record keeping, complicated timing of registration and length of residency in relation to elections, with related record-keeping requirements; felony disenfranchisement focusing on crimes thought to be committed by African Americans,[35] and a literacy test or comprehension test.

Who bought them from black slave traders... And the black slave trade is ripe in our modern world, but the left doesn't care as it's counter intuitive to their current narrative!

Africa is again the world’s epicenter of modern-day slavery

Please do tell. What was inaccurate about my statement?? And why do you deflect the realities of today as slavery is alive and well today.

Isn’t slavery existing today more relevant than the historical impact slavery supposedly has on people who weren’t slaves, have never known slavery and don’t know anyone who owned slaves? The real issue is people using ancient history as a crutch for their problems today.

I think it's YOUR memory of history that sucks. You keep using political parties affiliations to further your fake news agenda. What part of white Christian conservative males were the one's defended slavery don't you understand? Note that the South still do so to this day. Conservative males today belong to the republican party,

Not at the expense of forgetting why, and how, this nation was torn apart by civil war.

Ancient history? Do you have the lifespan of a mayfly? Noah's Ark is ancient history. The Pharaohs of Egypt building the pyramids is ancient history. Slavery in America didn't end with the Civil War. Sure, it was no longer legal to own another human, but that doesn't mean that institutional racism extending from slavery didn't, and doesn't, still exist. Heck, Rosa Parks was arrested less than 75 years ago for refusing to give up her seat to a white man.

    Ancient history, my backside....

Again, this reveals a lack of insight of US history.

Slavery did continue on Indian reservations-where Natives continued to own slaves.

Forgive me for asking but did you take any university level history classes?

Hilarious post since your first comment on this thread was off topic, and you seem to disregard the topic altogether in favor of your prefered material.

And I wondered which anal retentive poster would pick out “ancient history” and have a cow that ancient history technically occurred between the Pre-Cambrian era and...what the heck is the matter with you:) It was a figure of speech!!! Do you correct someone when they say “ I was laughing so hard I could die”, when they don’t actually drop dead in front of you? You win the prize. Hehe.

Seriously. Slavery is LONG gone. Black People living in the US today are not effected. Those who make excuses for their shortcomings and try to blame it on dead people or history, are losers plain and simple..or just liars pandering to losers who listen to excuse makers.

One need only look at African American immigrants and how they perform vs those who grew up here listening to the excuse makers.
