Which bit(s) do you question ? - That asteroids of that size can be detected - That their trajectory can be determined - That calculations of their trajectory and Earth's orbit can be combined to show if and when they come into proximity again If you have concerns about the veracity of the information then let's hear it but can you at least concede that the way in which the information was communicated seems to be free of hyperbole and spin.
In which case the onus is entirely on YOU to produce the original "hyperbolic lying and nonsensical spin" as provided in this imaginary NASA PR press release that you fallaciously allege exists. That you won't is because you can't because it does not exist!
Apart from confirming what I've already said many posts ago - that I do believe Earth orbits the sun (I seem to recall answering the original question with 'DUH!', meaning 'Of course I bloody do!'?) - I reiterate that I'm finished on this thread. Bottom line? None of you can prove (note that word) these supposed events actually did take place any more than I can prove they didn't; so there's no point whatsoever for any of us to keep banging on about them. That's my last word on this topic, so don't waste any more of your time. It doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to the next one though! I'm onto NASA, and they know it!!
Conspiracy theorists are known to habitually opine on subjects they know little if anything about or are willfully ignorant of. Soldier on.
The question was why do you believe that Earth orbits the sun, and as predicted an answer was not given. As for proof of some of the predictions that astronomers make; the next total solar eclipse will occur on 2nd July 2019 over the western coast of South America; the next fly pass of Haley's comet by the Sun will be 28th July 2061. Now how do you think that the prediction of the orbit of Haley's comet is so accurate?
